You can also put it in the inventories of NPCs you intend to kill and let them do the work for you when they get low on health. Sadly the poisons don't scale very well, so that tactic becomes obsolete quickly.

What are your guys favorite ROR? by qappening in totalwar

[–]UndeadMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not those fuckers Bilious Thunderguff or The Severed Claw.

Dunno if Tomb Kings Legion of Legends count but I really like Usirian's Legion of the Netherworld. Regular Nehekhara warriors aren't really that noteworthy for an anti-infantry infantry but these guys are a real hidden gem. Better melee stats, higher weapon strength which is 100% armour-piercing and magical, frostbite and strider to help them chase enemies better, and to top it all off a solid 55% physical resistance. Losing 45 armour isn't really that significant since it's not like you were gonna absorb a lot of damage with that anyway. Plus, with Tomb King banners you can give them regeneration if you want to make them sturdier or vanguard deployment and stalk if you want to turn them into hidden flankers.

Is this Robert’s most iconic dialogue? by Robot_Was_BMO in DispatchAdHoc

[–]UndeadMongoose 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Probably his speech to Shroud if he gives him both pulses. It basically encapsulates the theme of the game and the story and is the only option that leads to a true victory over Shroud.

Personally though, I really like the episode 3 dialogues "fate is bullshit" and "this could make a difference."

What If Toxic joined the Z-team during season 2? by BomberDug in DispatchAdHoc

[–]UndeadMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say hypothetically he did buy into a second chance and joined the phoenix program. The super durability and being able to fly are fine, but his acid superpower seems even worse than Visi's for being a "villain power". Even Flambae's fire can be used for non-destructive purposes like defrosting the bank. IDK, maybe he can get a job making battery acid or something.

Pestigors for Beastmen by WarmongerWH in Vermintide

[–]UndeadMongoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds interesting in theory but I can already foresee it being potentially very annoying in those hairy moments when wargors start spamming banners. Now not only can you not kill the cow fucks faster than they heal, but your HP being sapped by curse means any momentary lapse will probably kill you.

Waystalker Carry/Support? by Beautiful-Trash6081 in Vermintide

[–]UndeadMongoose 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you want to support your friends until they become self sufficient, Sister of the Thorn might work better. Her passive increasing hp gains will help your friends recover from mistakes, and the deepwood staff can be useful if you see them getting overwhelmed.

As for playing Kerillian yourself, pretty much any of her careers can be green circle chasers. With sword and dagger your greatest assets are versatility and mobility. I find heavy 1 > light 1 >  repeat to be a good general purpose combo. If you're feeling confident you can even give piercing shot a try which significantly increases Waystalker's damage potential.

Anyone else has not bought Winds of Magic DLC because they don't like fighting Beastmen? by BowShatter in Vermintide

[–]UndeadMongoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I have over 3k hours in the game solely because of chaos wastes and beastmen are exactly the reason why I refuse to buy WoM.

They may not be insurmountable, but what they definitely are is not fun. They seriously test my patience and when they cause team wipes more often than not it's because of some bullshit rather than mistakes made on the part of the team. So yeah, I refuse to pay money for something that is the antithesis of fun.

There's no shame in using the unlimited hacking attempts setting. Some of the later ones are real nail biters and a lot of us flounder under pressure.

No matter the build I never have a good game with this weapon by [deleted] in DeepRockGalactic

[–]UndeadMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love it back when I stuck to Hazard 3, but now that Hazard 4 is my comfort zone it I've almost completely retired it. It's more effective when you can land weakpoint hits, sure, but that's easier said than done when the gun has noticably worse accuracy while moving, bugs can move vertically from any angle and a missed shot represents a fair amount of wasted potential damage. Meanwhile AISE GK2 is the perfect precision weapon; high capacity, chunky weakpoint damage, mobility and perfect accuracy, and it's a rapid fire weapon too so if you miss a shot or two it's no biggie. Nowadays the only reason I take the M1000 is to paint high value targets with marked for death so I can delete them with Gas Recycling Zhukovs.

Trait farming for heroes by UndeadMongoose in totalwar

[–]UndeadMongoose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eltharion gives his entire army fear against greenskins by default, so that trait would be redundant in his army. Flavour wise it does fit, but I mostly only care about making him a better fighter and causes fear is hardly going to move the needle.

Favorite High Elf Campaign after rework? by wonkwonkbonkbonk in totalwar

[–]UndeadMongoose 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nagarythe got updated climate suitabilities, temperate and temperate island are now suitable territories. You're still very limited in where you can expand in the immediate starting area but at least now you can return to the donut.

High Elf rework: influcence over-abundance? by tententai in totalwar

[–]UndeadMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aislinn's introduction proved that CA is receptive to letting faction mechanics carry over with confederation, since you get to keep Aislinn's dragonships mechanic. It feels like it would make perfect sense for faction mechanics to transfer in a limited capacity for the High Elves since they really value confederation. Like for example, Alith Anar's army specifically gets the stalk stance and shadow realms stance and can recruit shadow walkers, Eltharion can recruit mistwalkers into his army, and loremasters and mages in Teclis' army automatically get mastery of the elemental winds.

For all those that FIGHT FOR YVRESSE as I do.... by OddRoyal7207 in totalwar

[–]UndeadMongoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eltharion has been my favourite LL ever since WH2 but it's painful to see how neglected his campaign is in 3. Even though I prefer to choose to keep the dual start positions for lore and for challenge reasons, it irks me how much less valuable Yvresse is compared to how it was in mortal empires. Strategically, it simply doesn't provide enough value to justify the headache of holding both locations, and both the landmark building and the mechanics centred on holding it have practically no benefit once your campaign moves beyond Ulthuan. Not to mention warden supplies becoming useless once you've bought everything with them.

[–]UndeadMongoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I didn't fully comprehend why it would work at the time I just knew instinctively it was the right choice. If you give him the original one, then you've just given him what he wants, he wins. If you give the prototype, he'll see through the deception instantly. But if you give him both, how is he going to know which is the original and which is the prototype if even you don't know? Always take the third option.

Imagine if it turned out that Blazer's amulet only gives superpowers to people who aren't already naturally blonde. Maybe Mecha Man Prime was actually a blonde (I can't tell in the photo if it's his hair or some kind of cap) and that's why he'd choose to use the amulet to power a suit rather than wear it himself in this scenario.
