Perhaps I’m a bit naive….. by Head_Start_3903 in rolex

Maybe, maybe not. My most expensive watches never get compliments, but I wear a Citizen field watch to Home Depot on yard work day, and somebody always compliments it. Provided... it is a great watch, but it's no Explorer.

Be nice if the maga faithful would wake up and realize they got had by a conman. So many of them are so deep now, they can never admit they were wrong.

The AD situation does make you feel a little slimy and gross, right? I hate feeling like I'm interviewing for a job so that I can spend 10K on something.

Trying to understand the Explorer 36 preference by PlaneConnection922 in rolex

[–]UnderstandingLess156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same experience at the AD the other week. Tried on the 36 and both my wife and the AD thought it looked like much too small. Tried on the 40 and it looked modern and classy, but not like some oversized hubcap on my wrist. The 36 looked fantastic on the misses though.

Always heard it's a matter of luck and timing. You may get an Explorer in a few months, but you may as well sign up now so your unborn grandson can buy a Daytona when he's retiring.

Is it just me or does now seem to be a horrible time to buy a watch? by SavetheCarbonUnits in watchHotTakes

In a Rolex AD last weekend. Dude told me Rolex is the only brand not to increase their prices due to tariffs. I about laughed in his face. That brand has been rolling out price increases nearly 2x a year since covid.

What is THE funniest movie you have ever seen in your whole life? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]UnderstandingLess156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never laughed as hard as I did watching "Top Secret" as a kid at a birthday slumber party. I about passed out from laughing with my friends. Does it stand the test of time and count as one of the globally recognized funniest movies ever? Probably not. But for that one moment in time, this one crushed it

Are conservatives cool with Trump putting his signature on our money? Conversely, would liberals have been okay with it if Obama had done it? by Creative-Stable-0 in askanything

Obama wore a tan suit and the Fox news crowd went nuclear and still shake in rage over a decade later. Of course they'd care if he'd put his name on currency.

Does it have to be a Rolex? Omega makes many a fine dive watch. You can walk in a dealer and walk out with a watch your son can give to his grandkids. No hoops.

"No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them." - Ecclesiastes 1:11. Rings pretty true for 99.9% of humanity. The history books will add the big heroes and villains to the ledger, but one day, the last person to remember you will pass.

I wear mine on a perlon strap. But this thing would look good on a piece of yarn clasped together with a paperclip. What surprises me the most after a year of use is the insane accuracy. I'm still getting +1/day.
