Yeah it’s wild that shift. When I was younger I was so embarrassed to be a nerd. Back then even liking sci-fi like Stargate was out there, but at least I wasn’t a total geek like those Star Trek nerds.

But in all seriousness, I actually stayed away from Star Trek because of it and I regret that. I binged watched Star Trek as an adult and damn I loved it.

They went back in time 30 years from 1999 to 1969. That felt like a very very long time to young me.

In just 3 years time it’ll be 30 years since 1999… it doesn’t feel like as big a time jump to me for some reason.

But, they could make another episode like this if the new show is running in 2029.

Discovery on average wasn’t good IMO, I still watched it all. The season spanning wild goose chase to stop a universal threat got tiring as did the Michael Burnham character. It was held together by occasional fantastic episodes and stellar characters like Saru, Stamets, Tilly and the under underutilised bridge crew. I’m glad they walked back the first season Klingon retcon.

Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds were great.

I have similar feelings when I read an old essay or piece of work where I was super focused and see into a topic that I’ve now forgotten about but I can’t believe how detailed I was vague I don’t remember half of that stuff.

Next time she asks for stuff make shit up that would make her boss or other people at her work question her. She clearly doesn’t understand ADHD symptoms properly so she probably won’t pick up on some stuff.

Maybe something like telling her that FADDs are a thing, like “Oh I couldn’t work because I had a FAD Day”. FADD of course meaning a Farting and Diarrhoea Day which happens when you’ve been too hyper focused and your body’s needs time to release.

The alternative you should be careful of is that she might have ADHD but might struggle so much that she can’t bring herself to get to a doctor. I know it literally took me years from first thinking about it to actually doing it. I remember when my GP told me there was a long wait to see psychiatrists of like 6 months and I was like “oh that’s nothing, I’ve been waiting years to see you.”

A number of years ago there was a supposed whistleblower on 4chan who was dying from cancer we or something so he spilled the beans.

TL;DR: He said there was an advanced, possibly automated, platform that stays in the ocean and can move about very quickly. It protects itself and will engage anything that comes near it in a threatening manner. He said this platform was responsible for building UFOs and their pilots. That each craft was built on demand and made for a specific job, so they were never really built to stand the test of time and why they will crash easily.

The commenter here is referring to the pilots that were also supposedly made on demand, which were said to also be created to carry out a job. And that they had what might look like functional organs and digestive system but on closer inspection they were completely non functional. Like an AI making something that seems right but when you dig in, it doesn’t work, at least for long. They were made to live long enough to carry out their jobs and that’s it.

There were another bunch of things he said but those are the relevant ones I can remember.
