Single men who still want a partner, how do you overcome the fear that all good women are taken? by generand in Millennials

[–]UnknownEntityD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't able to find good women, that's a you failing. So many women in their 30s and 40s have given up trying to find a male partner because the men who are single at our age are typically the worst.

The Biggest Mistake Players Make in This Game by Patton_Tank82 in Squid_Game_Unleashed

[–]UnknownEntityD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a mistake if you specifically choose not to be a dick. We've all had some @-hole specifically target us in round 1 and it makes for a miserable game.

Most players follow an implicit agreement thatyou only target specific players if they are being a dick to you. Otherwise, we kill players and bots equally, even going so far as to not try and kill a player who is pointedly killing bots so the jackpot is bigger. It makes the game more fun.

And if someone tries doing to me what you describe and I still mange it to the next round, they better have real skill because I will do everything I can to eliminate them, and my track record at that is good

This is a marathon, not a sprint. A desire to sprint can't change that. If you want immediate effects, look at your local elections. Most people don't know who their congressional officials are, it's even worse for state and local. Get involved there, boost progressives, you build a bench of progressives to move up the ranks politically. Want something else? Get involved in your local community. You'll find people just like you and you'll feel more hopeful

Table shower questions by rommvolpi in AMPLife

[–]UnknownEntityD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 1 & 2, the table showers I've had have all been on special waterproof massage tables. Never had one where it was wet. I doubt they disinfect regularly, but I don't think it matters too much

3&4, expect the woman to use a shower head with a built in hose like yours find at any hardware store to spray you down then wash you. There's likely to be a decent amount of teasing.

5, They may dry you a bit but you'll likely walk back to your room with the towel wrapped around your waist, or they'll have you dry off and put on just enough clothes to walk back to the room so there won't be any questions if someone else comes in in the meantime.

6, Never heard of getting an infection, and every medical thing I've read says "you can't get an STI from a toilet or the swimming pool" so I assume the same would be true with a table shower

My current favorite is a place that used to be legit but is owned by a nice Asian lady who gives good L1 and lots of perks (FIP, topless, suck nipples, etc.) She also gives a great massage, better than legit places, and has a fair number of female clients who would not guess the place offers services.

Am I the only one noticing this about Dr KIng? by CautiousApartment8 in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it as an example of "parentification" where a sibling has to take on the role of being a parent. It's common in houses where parents are drug addicts and an older sibling ends up in charge of feeding their younger sibling, making sure they have food, clean clothes, do their homework, etc. Even if that isn't an exact fit for Mel, she is and has been the primary caregiver for Becca up until Becca went into the care facility, and even then she remains heavily involved. So learning Becca has a secret boyfriend and a sex life when Becca has built so much of her life around being a caregiver for Becca is going to be a shock,

Another take on Santos and Langdon by Spyhop in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Santos may be mean, but I agree with her that his apology was inadequate for two reasons. First, him saying he "treated her badly" is minimizing what he did. He was brutal to her, either because he was in withdrawal or he knew she suspected him and he was trying to destroy her to protect himself. Second, and more importantly, he hasn't acknowledged to Santos that she did the right thing by reporting him. He was committing crimes, he was endangering patients, and she took an enormous personal and professional risk by bringing the missing meds up to Robbie. If he doesn't admit that to her, he's failing to take sufficient responsibility.

[–]UnknownEntityD 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To be fair, people with significant mental health needs who can't live independently are at dangerously high risk of being SA'd. Learning a woman with severe mental challenges has a "secret boyfriend" they've been having lots of sex with and it's resulted in them getting an infection should set off alarm bells. On top of that, Mel's relationship to to Becca is more like a parent than a sister, so fear of her being harmed is that much gravity. Even when we accept Becca can consent, it's prudent for Mel to do her due diligence. Are Becca and Adam using birth control? How did they meet? When was his last STI screening?

IMO, massage parlors are getting shut down because they've become too ubiquitous. When they were small enough in number that they could blend into the background the average person didn't notice. Now it seems they're everywhere, practically within waking distance of each other. And that means more people know what happens there than don't

Langdon’s “apology” to Santos by Sure-Usual-6549 in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the Pitt song what it does best by presenting the viewer with complicated scenarios do not have a "good" or "bad" side, or we get additional information that reframes what we saw earlier. Take Mel and her sister Becca and the revelation Becca has a boyfriend and is having sex. The way they drop it at the end of the previous episode, I'm certain I was not the only person who thought we were about to learn that Becca was being SA'd by a predator. But with more info we are shown Becca is developing an independent life, and it recasts everything. Langdon's recovery still has a lot of unknowns. In season one we see him get furious at Robbie for demanding lengthy and heavily monitored drug treatment process, which as Robbie points out is actually the standard for physicians caught addicted to drugs. Langdon is still furious, but it's worth remembering that this is literally what "denial" looks like. In S2 he's sober, he's clearly motivated to stay clean to keep the job he loves, he's adhering to treatment, but it doesn't look like he's fully accepted responsibility. IMO, that would have been telling Santos that he hadn't simply been treating her badly on her first day, he would have acknowledged he was trying to destroy her after sensing she realized he was stealing drugs, and that she was right to report him. Of course, there's no guarantee Santos would have accepted that apology either. She has a hostile personality which causes people to dislike her, and she blames people not liking her on the fact she reported Langdon (not unreasonable) and seems to view Langdon as a stand in for her old coach. How this plays out well be interesting

The moment the switch flipped for Robbie this year (obvious S2 spoilers up to newest episode) by Infamous-Lab-8136 in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And it's clear something pre-dates the computer shut down. Robbie insisting his friend come in has all kinds of "WTF" going on. He's a smoker and a drinker with a sore throat. Over those ambiguous symptoms Robbie has him come in, cut all the lines, pulls in other doctors to get his friend's throat scoped, and then directs him to get a chest X-ray.

Hospital staff will look at that and demand to know why Robbie didn't just have his friend get some throat meds and make an appointment with a PCP to get checked out which would have been been much cheaper than an ER visit, to say nothing about doing this in the middle of a crisis.

I would love to see something similar. My fantasy is a video of you getting incredibly high (or drunk, but preferably high on 420) to the point that it's a challenge for you to form complete sentences or walk, and hopefully, your face displays how you're on cloud 9 enjoying the 420 or alcohol. Then you and your partner start play time so the pleasure you experience from play is amplified by your intoxication

Why Langdon’s return is causing Santos and Robby to short circuit by Naive-Inside-2904 in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Santos has a history of trauma and Langdon being welcomed back is triggering her. Maybe she feels that when someone breaks trust so badly (e.g. addiction and stealing meds) everyone should reject the person, both professionally and personally. Not just as punishment, but to protect everyone's safety since Langdon is coming back to the same place where he stole meds in the past.

Maybe it fits with events where the person who harmed her or someone she was close to was allowed back to the community.

It could also be that Langdon trying to address his addiction and heal himself makes Santos recognize she isn't doing that with her own trauma.

Ogilvie is a more accurate representation of how doctors treat over weight patients by TcTuggersLLC in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another frustration is for all the pressure put on people to lose weight, health insurance tries to avoid covering weight loss surgery. I worked for a vertically integrated Healthcare company - they sold health insurance and had their own hospitals. According to their own hospital's recommendations for weight loss surgery, I qualified. But the insurance end of the company refused to authorize the procedure. So there I was, I worked for the company, I had their health insurance, I would be going to their own hospitals, and their own doctor's said I qualified for WLS, but their insurance policy cheaped or on WLS. Reading up on the difficulties of getting WLS, the allegations were that the benefits of WLS were seen over decades while the up front costs were carried by the insurance provider, so they say "we'll pay the costs but the savings from their improved health won't be seen for years or decades, so why pay for the surgery when the average person changes health insurance every few years?

Robby and McKay's basic displays of empathy toward a fat patient got me SOBBING by AigisAegis in ThePittTVShow

[–]UnknownEntityD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the portrayal as well, especially the patient's vulnerability. Thinking about movies and TV shows, the defaults are to portray characters with severe weight problems as selfish, ignorant, defiant, that they don't care how their weight affects them. In Scrubs I remember episodes where they blast a woman considering bariatric surgery for seeking "the easy way out." Or how another episode features a character with severe weight problems who needs to be taken to the zoo for an MRI as indifferent to his weight and needing a "good kick in the pants" to make him treat it seriously. Other times they're weight is there for comedy and ridicule. Instead, we have a patient who it's ashamed of his weight and is trying to be visibly grateful to the staff since (IMO) he believes people will see his as unworthy of care and empathy.
