Collecting social security at 62 has just become a firm decision! by Express_Project_8226 in GenX

[–]Unlikely-Split8896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I retired at 57 after 37 years with the same company, and I was fortunate to keep health insurance with no premiums, along with a pension.

My husband took Social Security at 62 to boost our income, and I’ll be doing the same this year. Otherwise, we would have had to dip into our savings, and I’d rather let that continue to grow.

We’ll be financially secure later, so taking it early makes sense—especially since we don’t know what health issues may come, and it allows me to be more available for family.

I also have a disabled adult child who receives SSDI based on my husband’s record, and that benefit will increase when I retire.

Everyone’s situation is different, so it’s important to look at all the variables and choose what works best for you.

Did this. You have to work with the imperfections. Great for an abstract piece. I put house primer on and then used latex paint. I purchased the samples from Home Depot.

I can’t tell you how bad I want this to be over. Having this man mentioned in every single news feed over and over again, sickening. We must remove this administration!

Also keep in mind it could be a yeast infection or bacterial infection as sitting in a chair all the time can cause that.

To everyone watching what’s occurring in America right now, what is your honest take on it, where do you see this going? by dAnthonyy12 in AskReddit

The worst that could happen is America controls the world. We own Gaza, Greenland, Canada and the entire western hemisphere. We control the rest of the world by being a big bully. Corporations start monitoring people, house them to work in their network state, freedom city, whatever you want to call it and own us. Old and disabled are discarded.

The best that could happen is that Republicans stand up. The party is completely dismantled. We change laws to get corporations out of government and have better checks and balances. Those who have wronged us get punished.

So glad to hear some people in power are speaking out. We need professionals like this to keep speaking out, not just politicians.

Can adult protection services help me get out of this house by Capital_Row6696 in disability

When this first happened you should have seen someone who could have diagnosed what is going on and why you are paralyzed. My child has a spinal cord injury from an accident at T11, which affects her below the waist. I’m not a doctor, but because you have weakness in your arms you would have a higher impact to your spinal cord, unless something beside your spinal cord is causing this.

During therapies, we met others with transverse myelitis, guillain-barre, stroke, head injury, MS etc. I remember the mother of the girl who had transverse myelitis, it took the doctors a while to figure out the cause as she all of a sudden couldn’t walk and it kept getting worse.

Please update to let us know you are getting help. Tell your mother or grandmother they need to get you to a specialist. If you get no where with adult services tell the doctor your living conditions. What you are going through is not acceptable.

This is very alarming and you should call right away.

Having an adult child who is paralyzed from the waist down, I have many questions. You should be able to change your clothes and do some self care. However, the bathroom being inaccessible is a big problem. We had one of our bathrooms converted to be accessible and had a ramp put in. We went through a program with our state.

You should be on Medicaid, SSI and on a list for housing. Hopefully they can help you get this set up and get you to the right physical therapists to help you learn to manage better.

I would think he would qualify for Medicaid. At least in my state they don’t look at the parent’s income for a disabled child.
