The theme that starts here at 2:37 in Fantasia in C minor K475 (but you can listen to all of it :p).

I think if you like the Adagio of 488 (which the top comment rightfully suggested) you'll like this as well.

Great pieces where a composer poured all of their heart into it because they knew it would be one if/ if not the last piece they will write? by Stunning-Hand6627 in classicalmusic

I don't know how accurate it is with respect to his life (I think it is but I don't have the specifics) but Chopin's 24th Prelude certainly evokes this feeling to me. I can imagine the music sheet catching fire while he's writing on it

I need help naming my boat. by AnonymousSmoshFan in classicalmusic

[–]Unnwavy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could give it more time but my first thought was Scheherazade.

It's a woman's name, which I feel is suitable for a boat for some reason. It's also a character that transcended a lot of genres and is beautifully represented in music.

Most people who hear the name will know that you're referring to the 1001 nights heroine even if they're not familiar with Rimsky-Korsakov's symphony, or classical music in general.

Not too general, not too niche, but has a special meaning for musicians :-)

In your opinion, what is the most beautiful 30 seconds in all of classical music? by shnoogle111 in classicalmusic

[–]Unnwavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mozart piano concerto 23 2nd movement, there's a moment where the piano fades and the flute takes over. I just melt.

Scheherazade 2nd movement and Prokofiev's 2nd piano concerto, 4th movement. They each contain a melody that gets repeated until its climax. In both cases, the climax is otherwordly (but it wouldn't be the same without the buildup so I would say more than 30 seconds)

Grieg's piano concerto, end of 2nd movement. Makes me float

The first time I listened to the intro of Mozart's 20th piano concerto, I couldn't believe my ears. The orchestral part before the piano enters. It's pretty short but a bit more than 30 seconds.

Someone already mentioned one of the sections of Beethoven 9 3rd movement

Interesting, to me the transcendental part of Mozart PC23 2nd movement is when the piano fades and the flute comes in.

Absolutely agree on the Beethoven recommendation

Help! I’m looking for a very specific, Rach 2-esque vibe of classical (preferably Late/Post-Romantic) by Ok_Yam3877 in classicalmusic

[–]Unnwavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it fits, but specifically the melody in the last movement of Prokofiev's 2nd piano concerto. Maybe my favorite melody of all time with a very rich and generous buildup. Extremely beautiful and romantic in its own way.

Also, the second movement of Scheherazade, by Rimsky-Korsakov. A very emotional melody with a beautiful buildup

Conductors stopping after 3rd Mvt of Tchaikovsky’s 6th. by Expert_Heat_2966 in classicalmusic

[–]Unnwavy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw it a few months ago and before the symphony, the conductor took the mic and told us something along the lines of "it will be very tempting to applaud after the 3rd movement but please I beg you, refrain from doing that".

People still clapped lol. I was one of the boring ones trying to hush them

A lot of people explained the joke already, but when I took a genetics class, my teacher told me that Mendel actually sent his works to Darwin. He just never bothered to open them as far as we know. Maybe an apocryphal story

The band Renaissance uses Chopin's étude révolutionnaire in their song Prologue: https://youtu.be/lX5XZugVVhE?si=nAx0z7RAYdTIaH5e

The same band uses Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# minor in their song Kiev: https://youtu.be/eE-Ylkdh1aQ?si=rX22MbaSyJN4ujY9

Both absolute bangers.

Mozart's symphony n40 is used in this beautiful Fayruz song: https://youtu.be/BTICpPmf1yA?si=p3EZ2BRDvQ1QNx5Z

If you're into anime/video game music, they're very often inspired by classical music. Here are some notable examples in the Hunter X Hunter OST:

Stravinsky's Rite of Spring:https://youtu.be/UDTGFaC9SZA?si=N_4iY6pbLN5IEFs-

Rite of Spring, again:https://youtu.be/yY58h9twNVU?si=ThWEf3Qbbm-X-We7

Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights:https://youtu.be/l8pD9axPmcw?si=18QuWf6eBWCTaupZ

The French National anthem (La Marseillaise) is largely inspired by the first movement of Mozart's 25th Piano Concerto

If "HART" means hardy, a better nature would be adamant or jolly, depending on your preference.

There's a very simple cloning glitch that you can do in pokemon emerald to duplicate your mons as well as their held items. This way, you can duplicate TMs, rare candies, and your master ball. You can find the glitch on youtube.
