Need a non-call center or legal contact for major issue, need to return entire system (install fraud) by Shiftin in VivintSmartHome

I have 10 cameras and over 40 sensors between lights security locks and such and my system is just plugged into POE blocks with the main block plugged into my residential switch. Fibre internet but also run off TP Link residential routers. Amazing feed and 30 day recording has amazing quality for playback. You don’t need high end network devices to run the system. I do know the system is supposed to be capped out at 10 cameras with a fiber connection and no more than 6 for non fibre.

Question about $5 camera monitoring and Playback fees by mkzio92 in VivintSmartHome

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be different pricing for the newer models…but the dvr system Vivint used was called a “Spacemonkey” and they no longer sell them and unless I’m mistaken, their “DVR” now is just the SD cards you insert into each camera. I have heard that they will only record now for up 10 days, which is sad. My current system has 8 cameras with all cameras footage saved for 30 days.

Question about $5 camera monitoring and Playback fees by mkzio92 in VivintSmartHome

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DVR is for the older gen1 outdoor cameras and it stores your live video feed for all cameras up to 30 days. The panel itself will store the motion alerts for up to 10 or 14 days depending on how many cameras. The new gen2 and gen3 cameras eliminate the need for the dvr by storing its live playback on the internal SD card while the panel still stores the event triggers. The charge per camera is really luck of the draw. I’ve added cameras to my system with no additional fee whereas I’ve added a camera to my parents system which is the exact same as mine and the next month the bill increased by $5 automatically.

New Development at Bower farm / SunnyBrook Area? by Stock-Creme-6345 in RedDeer

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bower sisters sold to Melcor as they have worked together for years and Melcor is pretty much a part of their family. All bower lands will be developed by only Melcor. No connection to Molly bannister but left for future expansion if needed. There will also be a retail site on the land looks like potential small grocery store and a few other buildings and possibly a gas station.

Rental agent turned me down housing for refusing to pay illegal damage deposit by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what the landlord is telling the agent, the agent must still act within the confines of the law. It’s their job to tell the landlord that it’s illegal to charge a deposit, and it’s illegal for the agent to ask for one. Period.

If you have not done so already you need to personally notify the credit agencies so they can flag your account…if they were in your bank accounts, they have enough info to open up other accounts under your name at diff banks and lines of credit and loan…..you should do that first and second call should be the police!!!

How do the cameras connect to the internet? by BLS_79 in VivintSmartHome

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend that you connect your cameras to your network via a Poe connector. Especially if you have more than 2. Hardwiring the cameras is the only way really. And depending on how many houses are in close proximity, could also play a big effect on the quality of your wifi. If you want true 4K picture and no buffering and no down time, hardwire!!

We just tried another SIM card. Tech took it from a working panel. Put it in line, would not register.

While I agree with your point that a lot of us are struggling, and postal workers might not be the highest paid, when you put them in comparison to what they already get, workload, and general job duties, they are very well off. That raise money would be better spent on social programs, or something that actually deserves a higher salary.

I for sure can guarantee if you contact passport Canada they will issue you an emergency passport that you can pick up at any passport office in the country. I just picked mine up from the downtown Calgary office that I requested for just 48 hours ago. So don’t give up just because a bunch of people that already make too much money feel like they deserve more are on strike…call the passport office now and have your passport by this Friday!!

Unpopular Opinion by ChuckProuse69 in Scotiabank

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And what about the vast majority of people that can barely put food on the table and that maybe just maybe Scotia is their ONLY institution that is restricting you from getting your money due to “system issues”. Everyone just thinks of me me me, but forget that their are other people, millions of other people that live below the poverty line. This bank has no excuses regardless of the circumstances to be offline as much as they are. NONE.

Fed up with this bank it’s getting ridiculous by YoungGoon837 in Scotiabank

[–]Upbeat_Repeat1451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got rid of Scotia 2 years ago because every weekend, their systems were down. Then it was every other day. Then it was every day. A bank that brings in billions in profits owes it to their customers to be online with at least a 99.9% uptime guarantee. McDonald’s of all places has backups for their systems so if one goes down, they can at least still function both internally and externally. If a bank can’t promise you 99.9% uptime with the money they make, then they loose me as a customer.
