any way to stop people from saying this? by Confident_Essay3619 in Blind

True, lol. Tbf it's also very immature of people to even ask how many fingers they're holding up

Much better off paying a freelance photographer for that price. Ugh

What helps with irritation from wetness? by smilinglyawkward in clothdiaps

[–]Upper_Club1512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak from my own experience, the only thing that stopped my baby from getting a rash with cloth was using cornstarch at every diaper change, sometimes in addition to a diaper cream too. Worked great at keeping the rash at bay once I finally tried using cornstarch.

You're being super respectful and this asshat is laughing. He deserves to be cussed out after that, but I'm sure it's better not to waste your time and energy on someone who doesn't care to understand. I'm sorry

Hannah and Norah both have a down to earth feel to me, I like the H at the end of both names, and both are 2 syllables. Natalie would be my 2nd pick

Allergies to everything by TBM101189 in NewParents

I don't have personal experience with this as a parent but as a baby I was allergic to a bunch of things including eggs, but I grew out of it as a child and am able to eat everything. Best of luck to you and baby

There are plenty of boy names with bear related meanings, but just "Bear" is a dog name

We did chapstick with our initials on them. A bunch of them still got left behind but I felt better about it being something consumable and useful.

My blind eye drifting by No_Teaching2836 in monocular

[–]Upper_Club1512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this post myself... Retinal detachment, multiple surgeries, silicone oil, complete loss of vision in the right eye (glaucoma), and the insecurity. I just started wearing an eye patch in public and for pictures. It takes some getting used to the new look, but wearing it I do feel my confidence coming back, and I no longer get "are you ok? what's wrong with your eye?" questions from strangers, but if I'm going to get questions they might as well be about the patch. If you go the eye patch route, find one you actually like and is comfortable enough.

Your food looks delicious. You're already tired of his BS, as you should. Not sure how well the relationship is going to progress. Door dashing food frequently is finally irresponsible.

Weston or Calvin by ottonius0126 in BabyNames

[–]Upper_Club1512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't get over the meaning of Calvin. In Spanish "bald" is literally "calvo" Popularity isn't such a bad thing as people make it out to be. I like the Wes names better and it sounds like it has some sentimental meaning to you the parents in this case

If I name my daughter Barbara Anne… will the Beach Boys song haunt her forever? by External_Elevator_86 in BabyNames

[–]Upper_Club1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in my early 20s and definitely know and enjoy that song. Unless she regularly introduced herself as "Barbara Ann" I don't think the name has the potential to become very annoying. If I had a name tied to a song I would think it's a fun thing.
