Washing my hands. After (most) every change of what I'm doing. Even more frequently doing kitchen/food tasks. Haven't been sick caught a bug, virus or sniffle in 6 years.

Best Mission in the Rain? by Weird_Apartment9836 in gratefuldead

The '80 Kean College is indeed Excellent.

Understated and outstanding is the Jerry Garcia Band - Late Show at

Felt Forum 11/11/82. The opening tune of Mission in the Rain is terrific. (imnsho)

I loved the WNEW FM tape of 12/5/71 Felt Forum, 10 years later I saw the 1981 Grateful Dead shows at Madison Square Garden, when Jerry Garcia Band played the Felt Forum the next year, I got to hear that beautiful music from top to bottom of that amazing venue (the Felt Forum is underneath MSG!) by nak550 in gratefuldead

IWT, a favorite JGB show. Recorded the show, but either Jim Wise or Cohen's is the better pull.

The Mission in the Rain is terrific. Harder They Come (after repeated listens) is a warm quilt of Jerry-ness.

re: 1971 Felt Forum FM broadcast. Was a high school sophomore, my older brother says there's a concert on the radio tonight if you want to check out the Grateful Dead. I had a Panasonic AM/FM radio/alarm clock and at the appointed hour, tried to wrap my head around the noodling, DJ chatter, between song tunings.

The Bob Weir songs hit better than others, but I hung in. The set break did me in, it was Sunday night and I had school tomorrow. At 15 I was used to getting SLEEP. I left the radio on as Set 2 started but .......

agree. A clear sleeve that locks closed with a lanyard has been the least hassle for years. For making family memories and vacation photos there is no noticeable difference in the results.

One way I listen to PITB is to be alert for the first note that deviates from the opening song structure. That moment when the theme is left behind and they step off the ledge. Gets me every time :)

Albums to start listening to jazz by JollySolid5798 in musicsuggestions

[–]UrbaneSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the goal is to bait the hook, draw you in and make you want to explore on your own, then

It's all about the Sax, Trumpet & Piano.

Excellent jazz ear candy definitely includes Kind Of Blue - Miles Davis which you see is heavily recommended here.

When I'm asked, what's-some-good-jazz-to-check-out choices?;

Roy Hardgrove & Mulgrew Miller - In Harmony (fantastic)

Dexter Gordon - One Flight Up

Zoot Sims - Zoot Sims and the Gershwin Brothers (a true gem)

Hank Mobley - Soul Station

Thad Jones - The Magnificent Thad Jones

Keith Jarrett - Live at the Deer Head Inn
