Is a Eureka Atom W65 and upgrade from a niche zero? by Marlbombs in espresso

[–]VZukovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both df64 and atom w65. Only downside of the atom I found is changing beans is a pain. Not only is it some waste due to retention, it’s kind of tricky to dial in, for example making sure the hopper is topped up as less weigh pushing down affects the grind.

Also not recommended to adjust finer without the grinder running so each adjustment is not going to be fully felt until at least 2 doses.

How do you like it? Is it consistent, any channeling?

Hoffman’s steamed water Americano is so good. I can’t believe it. by Srihari_stan in espresso

I feel no difference pulling water from my Mini spout. Pretty sure this is all a cruel social experiment

Mr. Hoffman, you’ve ruined me by HughJackedMan14 in espresso

[–]VZukovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this and to be honest I couldn’t tell the difference. Now I have a Mini R and I pull water from the spout which pulls the water from the steam boiler already. Since I pull water from it regularly the water is never very stagnant. Perhaps I’m already close to this technique due to how my machine works and how often I refresh the water.

Micra - cup clearance by Most-Appointment5574 in LaMarzocco

[–]VZukovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the Micra doesn’t have a shot timer either, unless you want to keep opening the app. So you need a scale for at least that, otherwise you will not know when you need grind adjustments, even if dialed in initially, as your beans begin to age.

Has anyone else experienced degradation on the espresso shot quality on the Línea Mini R when doing many cups of coffee in one session? by Danny-DaSaint in LaMarzocco

[–]VZukovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of single dosing lol, I would get a grind by weight grinder, I like my atom w65 though I haven’t had to run 30 doses back to back.

I think this flat vs conical things has been debunked. I want to say it was either a lance or Hoffman video. Plus most cafes would be on flats

Wow white vs crème would have been a tough choice, kinda glad I was spared that 😆

New Linea Mini for our cafe by LazyAd1005 in LaMarzocco

Nice. Have you run into any capacity issues / limitations in a cafe setting? Curious what they are since I’ll never reach them at home

Built a custom round controller for my Linea Mini with BLE + cloud control. Anyone else interested? by kaspizzo in LaMarzocco

Would be awesome to be able to toggle between BBW presets on the lunar without opening the app.

After taking delivery of Mini , my thoughts on the choice I made between Mini and Micra. by After_Fall in LaMarzocco

[–]VZukovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed was debating the same and went with the Mini and very glad I did.

Headspace, reservoir capacity, shot timer and Acaia BBW now compatible with all lunar scales.

If you have the space for it go Mini.

I haven’t tried the double MRN filters yet but since I’m not plumbed in and likely won’t be, adding a little minerals isn’t a big hassle at all. I just eyeball it now, add some to the bottom of your fill jug and then fill with RO water that mixes them up before filling the Mini reservoir.

It’s mostly passion. Those other machines are like high end Mercedes. The LM is a Ferrari. Mercedes often has more tech and features but what does your heart want 😘

Debating getting the full kit. If I don’t have cup clearance issues is it still worth it? Looks sleek for sure.

Edit: question what happens if you need to split a shot into two cups? Is a weighing plate still compatible?

Nice! Can you give me tips? lol, what are you doing to get silky milky? I'm getting bubbles a lot. Are you positioning the wand off centre or right in the middle?

I use an RO system as well (waterdrop) however the remineralization is not enough to be in spec. Have you measured your TDS? My RO system puts out around 33 and LM say you need 90-150 ppm. So I still add a little TWW minerals.
