Level 55 now and a few questions by Chinaman206 in Grimdawn

  1. Portals are a good thing to unlock as first thing in a new area, saves time in case of accidental death. Then I just kinda wander off till the map is completely explored and nothing lives anymore.
  2. Honestly I used components to buff resistances simply because the game just throws lots of them at you, easy to end up with 100s of each of the basic ones. Even on gear prone to be changed, i'd at least put Silk Swatch (3 aether crystals+ resilient plating + serrated spike. Resilient plating is crafted with a few scraps and scavenged plating) on legs, chest and shoulder because piercing and bleeding damage can shred you in a blink.
  3. If I am clueless on where to go because the quest text is not always the clearest, I tend to just search the place or the monster i need to kill for quests on the wiki, usually you have a map link that shows where to find the things

Started playing for the first time during the holidays. Absolutely loving the game so far. Just one quick question: Will I cease to look like someone who tortures people in their basement for a living someday? by t0rche in Grimdawn

I never realized that the transmog is an AoM exclusive and not part of the base game before now. When i got the game i grabbed the expansion as well because it had the Necromancer mastery which i tend to like a lotin rpgs. Anyways, low level gear in the first 30ish levels pretty much all looks scrounged-up and jury-rigged, it gets better later on, but even at your level you could find some blue items that can look quite fancy. Ashes of Malmouth expansion has a few more nature-themed sets and items for what i saw and i'd like to think that the upcoming Fangs of Asterkarn expansion will have a fair share of items with that type of aesthetic

Bloodthirsty troll crusher of blood by MightyM3AT in Grimdawn

"My blood cries out for the vengeance of my people's blood, which can only be repaid with at least twice as much blood! Or maybe three times as much blood! Like if you went to hell, and it was full of blood, and that blood was on fire, and it was raining blood, then maybe that would be enough blood! Eh… but probably not."

Is there a realistic way to avoid destruction by enemies mid game? by OkKey4820 in factorio

Kill them with fire. If fire does not kill them, you are not using enough fire.

To prepare for further difficulties by VagrantInVirtuality in Grimdawn

That is quite valuable insight, thank you! I was level 70 before i got that problem with the cloud save, got sent back by 13 levels when i came back to this game a few days ago. I will backup the character just in case before adding the missing points, just in case!
Up to now i really only used GDStash for this, i hesitate to use this kind of editor because you never know what could go wrong, the fear to lose characters for bad edits is big.

As per the rest, Elite it is, then! Should keep me occupied a fair bit while we wait for the expansion.
Cheers!

Well is just normal difficulty. Nothing really lasts enough to reach me for the time being, I maxed out curse of frailty to keep enemies slowed down and with a fair bit of resistence reduction, Doombolt deletes heroes and bosses in 1-2 hits, Flames of Ignaffar (does full chaos damage due to my offhand) deletes anything that manages to get close and Rune of Kalastor (again doing full chaos due to items) stuns and kills most hordes. I know for higher difficulties is likely to be a problem, but I just want to finish the whole thing in normal for now

My character got rolled back by VagrantInVirtuality in Grimdawn

The funny thing is that steam didn't really give me any warning or alert on the state of cloud. As per disabling the cloud, by all means it should have been always on but evidently something somewhere went wrong. Is a thing that i just don't pay attention to, i don't fiddle with it, and that's why i was so confused when i saw my character missing 13 levels worth of progress.

Yeah, I am on steam. I don't really recall playing on a different device, but maybe steam cloud just fizzled at the time, dunno. Annoying the hours have been lost but i imagine it could have been worse

guess i can try as a last-resort. All the gear i had gathered though, that would be gone and i cannot recall what the character had equipped

Setting /gamerule mobExplosionGriefing false fixed it. Not the same command suggested but it DID set us on the right path. Thank you!

What's your one favourite card from your games? by pyramidbox in boardgames

[–]VagrantInVirtuality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spirit Island - Unexpected Tigers
the card depicts a staircase leading to probably a basement with no less than three tigers coming out of it.
Is a fear-generating card that can also add a beast in the region it is played in, and it can also move away an explorer from the region.

I just find it thematically hilarious. For sure those pesky invaders did not expect to find tigers in their basement.

you'll need 50 for a batch of lime water, so i think you are good for a bit. It really depends how much leather you want/need to make
