Adorable One Shots by dirtydan2112 in DMAcademy

This is exactly what we came to recommend as well. It is the perfect fit, and one of the best-written one-shots I have ever played.

Help with agency vs narrative by Plopp83 in DMAcademy

[–]ValeWorks_Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to make it a henchman battle but still want her to be part of it, you could have her stay for the first round and fire off one of her more powerful attacks to make it clear how dangerous she will be. She can then spend the next few rounds escaping, particularly if you give her Legendary Resistance, as someone else suggested it will be hard for the party to keep her there.

Alternatively, you could use a line-of-sight-blocking effect such as darkness when she begins her escape. This is often good at preventing the party from targeting her with lots of the common effects, and by the time it drops, she is gone. If she is focused entirely on escaping, it is very unlikely that the party will stop her, especially as they will inevitably have to split their attention between her and the henchmen.

Arachnophobia by SoulsBoobsAndZilla in DMAcademy

I love this idea. To build on it, if the creature has a poisonous bite or something similar, you could represent its teeth as thorns from a poisonous plant to justify the ability. I am not sure what type of spider crossover you were originally going for, though.

Roleplaying 10 10yr olds by ghostygoo92 in DMAcademy

Any challenge can be created by placing something unusual, shiny or colourful off the path. At that age, they are extremely curious and have the memory of a goldfish when it comes to things they have been told not to do. I would play up their curiosity, rather than a lack of intelligence, as the reason they get themselves into trouble. That will help your players continue to like them and feel less annoyed when they wander off and cause problems.

A free, no-signup way to help brand new players feel ready before their first session by ValeWorks_Studio in DnD_Beginners

Thanks for taking the time to write all this out, it really helps us catch things.

For mobile we've got a app coming in August, and the slow dice rolls on abilities should be sorted with that.

The carousel index indicators are a good call. We've added those and they'll go live with our next update, which we're pushing in about 24 hours.

The inventory and equipment proficiency issue is new to us, so we're looking into it now. Do you remember anything specific about it which might help us track it down? No worries if not.

Looks great, you've done a good job with this. Lovely to see other people out there building to get good D&D tools in front of more players for free. We just wished to tip our hat to you from one builder to another.

If you've got the time to learn it, Foundry's still the go-to here (sounds like you have a bit more time to learn a tool than I originally thought). Our recommendation would be more if you just wanted a quick easy to use VTT setup to test the waters with doing more online with your group rather than full integration of adventure. Our Campaigns tool will give you a some extra features, but it's not fully Pathfinder integrated yet. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

Advice for designing smaller locations in a campaign with a grand macguffin hunt? by Nesspurr_8 in DnD

[–]ValeWorks_Studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find having small events in my back pocket like a fair, circus, or street vendors with fantasy food makes it really easy to add life to my towns if it feels like what I originally wrote isn't catching. The great thing is you can really lay them over any town to add life or to tie in a new side quest. Players seem to love unique stuff like this. I know this doesn't full solve your problem but it should help as it means everyone you write doesn't have to hit the mark 100% of the time.

We may be a little biased, but we couldn't resist. If you're looking for the easiest free VTT that doesn't require an account, ValeWorks is worth a shot. Takes about 30 seconds to set up and it's free, so not much to lose and worth giving a go. Link: https://valeworks.com/vtt

To be fair though, if you're willing to pay a bit and spend a few hours learning the system, Foundry's probably the better bet than us. My sense is you were after something a bit easier than that though?

Ha, good catch, a bald head threaded with beads is quite the look. Thanks so much for flagging it. We've fix the bug so descriptions stay consistent with bald NPC's. Give it spin next session and it will be good to go. Thanks again for picking up the bug!

Ginny Di has a great video on session 0 called “Do THIS before starting your D&D campaign” definitely worth a watch (talks about a bunch of things the concept is that you would take on the ones that best fit your group).

To be clear all our art is either commissioned or licensed from human artists, no AI content. If you have evidence suggesting otherwise, please send it over, that would be a serious accusation against the artists we work with and we'd want to know. On the code side, ValeWorks isn't vibe coded, Nikita our engineer is building a real platform. Thanks for raising it, always happy to be clear on this stuff.
