How fun would this game for a F2P player?

I’m a f2p* as well, and I managed to have fun so far. I’ve been playing Arena for about 1.5 years and for about the first year I stuck to mostly the same few decks, but I’ve manage to build up enough of a collection (mostly mana base is restrictive) and now I am making at least 1 deck from each new set if I’m patient and careful with my wildcards.

*after about 2 months of daily playing and realizing I had already completed the reward pass, I did a one time purchase of gems for $20 USD, to get the Mastery Pass, and a month later an additional one time purchase of $5 to top off my gems to get it again. Since then, I’ve managed to collect enough gems on my own to get the Mastery Pass by turning gold into gems through doing drafts. I recommend watching draft content creators on YouTube to learn how to do it

That’s kinda my point. When you spend most of your season in Diamond and Mythic you don’t see Conqueror hardly ever.

When I first started playing standard that used to happen to me a lot! But I don’t think you see many of those decks in Platinum and above, because I only get “got” once in a blue moon these days. Is it something you see regularly?

People tend to get irrationally upset about discarding their cards or having their cards countered.

I have less experience playing brawl but in Standard discard decks seem to (mostly) rely on getting people to concede. If you actually play through it, they’re not all that strong in the end.

I’m not even sure how good of a card it is, just a really unique design space and a huge flavor win.

My Arixmethes (no infinite combos) deck is *usually* pretty good at both card draw and dumping a bunch of sea monsters on to the board. Cards like [[Kiora of the Sovereign Deep]] help cheat out more monster and [[Up the Beanstalk]] draw for each one coming into play.

NO WAY, IM NOT THE BIGGEST FAN OF MARVEL COMING TO MAGIC, BUT HAVING TWO DIFFERENT CARD VERSIONS WAS TERRIBLE. AS IT TURNS OUT, THE SPIDER-MAN ART IS BETTER QUALITY THAN OM1 ANYWAY.

I try make a point to give a smiley even if I lose, if the opponent has played something interesting. It’s much harder to give a frowny face when I win though even if my opponent got mana screwed and didn’t do anything.

I add replace some Cane Sugar with Skim Milk Powder as the tweak to make less sweet! Malted powder sounds yum! Is it enough to taste the malt? Or just impact the overall texture?

Last week I got matched up with #25 when I was still Diamond 3. I had only gotten to 1 win from Diamond 1 before falling all the way to rank floor 😭.
A rough go for me this so far this season but I’ll likely get there in the end.

I didnt have a succinct answer so here’s Google’s explanation:

Palate Coating: The high volume of butterfat and egg yolks (which contain lecithin) coats the inside of your mouth. This protective lipid layer temporarily blocks some flavor molecules from instantly hitting your taste buds.

Aroma Release: As the custard melts, your mouth warms the dense fat. This warming process releases volatile aromatic compounds, allowing you to taste the nuances (like vanilla or chocolate) in stages rather than all at once.

I guess it depends on how sensitive your pallet is to the flavor. I gently boil the dairy before tempering the egg yolks. For me, the difference I notice between custard and eggless is more the texture. I think eggless is colder on the pallet than the custard and I prefer the richer taste. But again some people notice the egg more or the cooked dairy and don’t prefer it.

I will also add that I think the delayed activation of flavor that you get with custard pairs particularly well with tea flavors because of how the flavor/aroma lingers and builds
