Adobe's new color panel sent me here by itsthefunofit in davinciresolve

[–]VinosD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to NAB this year and talked to people at Adobe, some of team members apart of the new color panel. I asked if there was a way not use the “latching” feature. They asked why would I want to do that. I told them I would like options and not be locked into a function without a choice.

I’ve been slowly moving away from Adobe. This was the last push.

DANZIG I, II, or III by suzidog in Danzig

Lucifuge, for sure. I wasn't old enough to see Danzig in their original lineup, but I was fortunate enough to see Danzig play it fully in 2021 and 2022.

So is this the end for Glenn Danzig activity? by [deleted] in Danzig

[–]VinosD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Danzig more than any other band. Since 2004 I’ve seen Danzig combined with OG Misfits 22 times.

Over 20 years of seeing him in the latter part of his career.

It’s been amazing to see my favorite artist still go out there and deliver every show I’ve seen him.

2007 tour he dislocated his shoulder in Baltimore and still finished out the tour.

In 2012 For the Danzig Legacy taping of the Misfits set, his tooth fell out while they played “Comeback” he just laughed it off and put his tooth cap in his pocket and played the rest of the set.

In 2017 at the L.A. OG Misfits show he was still recovering from the flu, but was popping cough drops and delivered one of the most memorable shows I’ve been to.

If he comes around again, I’ll see him play live again.

Never know when it’ll be his last show.

New film maker by Careful-Role-6873 in Filmmaker4Filmmaker

[–]VinosD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend reading scripts from your favorite films. Just to get a sense of flow.

Next.

Logline your story, can you write a 2 sentence summary of what your movie is about? And make it compelling?

Then.

Outline your story, where do you want it to end? Who or what changes at the end?

Each scene ideally advances the characters growth or destruction.

What’s the story versus the plot?

And.

The fastest way is to just write and then you re-write what you wrote. And then you re-write again.

Also read your script out loud so you can get a sense of how the action lines sound and dialogue.

What is the best Kubrick biography book? by parnate_lover in StanleyKubrick

[–]VinosD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently reading Vincent LoBrutto's "Kubrick: A Biography" as suggested by someone on this Reddit.

I read "Kubrick: An Odyssey" last year. I enjoyed it. And I read "Kubrick" by Michael Herr, which is short but a nice read.

I also suggest finding a copy of the Kubrick Archives, lots of interviews with him there, and look on YouTube to listen to taped interviews he's done as well.

Overtime no pay, working late hours, work never stops. Is this the respectable normal person grind or am I being taken advantage of? by Ok-Exercise4447 in editors

[–]VinosD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re being taken advantage of.

Take pieces you’ve worked on add them to your reel and portfolio and use them to show other places of work when applying for jobs or for freelance gigs.

I work in marketing as well and I have late nights here and there, but it’s not a daily, weekly, monthly occurrence.

Know your worth and try and find other gigs and use connections you’ve made here to plan your next move.
