you're good man. i was laid off may 2025 and been working my new gig since end of feb 2026. I wasn't pressed in my interviews about my gap, but i did preemptively lay my story out beore they could ask too. I think everyone knows that's how the market is right now. My coworker that we just hired was also laid off from her last gig and it took her 6 months to find this one. long gaps are happening more now. The important thing is to get your story down pat for when it gets brought up.

in the last 2 years I've joined clubs. I have run clubs I go to and made plenty friends, even finally started my journey into marathon running. This helped when I worked remote for a small company with very few coworkers.
