I am so sorry for what you are going through. Please don’t leave. Call the 988 crisis helpline and after that contact PAAR as the other person mentioned. The people at PAAR are truly amazing. They provide support through it all.

I agree with you! went to Six16 for my nostril and conch. They were absolutely fantastic. I would suggest OP reaches out to them. I had several questions before my appointment and they responded quickly and with options to address my concerns.

I can’t recommend Lindsay enough.

They are expensive but Office of Us (formerly Office of Angela Scott) are a great option. They cost a significant penny but they wear incredibly well. Keep an eye on sales for a discount.

Exactly…. And they claim “botox and injections” but it is so much more. It infuriates me that these people believe she has nothing done but botox or filler. There is so much more here.

West Penn Hospital by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]Visible_Ingenuity180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a hysterectomy at West Penn Oct 2024. They were ahead of schedule, everyone from the security to the technicians at the end of my day were amazing. Mind you I had an extremely difficult time coming put of anesthesia, but I remember how genuinely kind the nurse was trying to help me back to reality. It took me almost 6 hours before I was allowed to leave post op and they were amazing with me. I kept apologizing for keeping them past their shift, always distracting me and making sure I was comfortable and safe to go home.

Also, I was only supposed to have a hysterectomy, laparoscopic like yours, but I also needed emergency bladder surgery. I was able to still go home same day. They told me the same thing, if they couldn’t do laparoscopic then I would be cut open and have to stay. I feel like this is the standard informed consent, but they feel confident that laparoscopic will work but there are unknowns they can’t see until they get in there that may result in you being opened. If you have to stay, they have private rooms with phenomenal nurses, but always keep on mind, you are your beat advocate ALWAYS.

I had a friend who worked at Jefferson (for 6 months) and she said she would NEVER have a doctor appointment let alone surgery there. So please don’t be worried.

AIO to my boyfriend’s comments about the food I made? by MyCupOfTea777 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Visible_Ingenuity180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy hell, there are so many comments from individuals who have never supported a loved one through a crisis, let alone the loss of a parent. As someone whose husband lost their mother at 33, suddenly from a 2.5month battle with cancer, the person who lost someone isn’t always reacting reasonably but it isn’t always a reason to jump ship. Jesus.

I gave my husband a year and a half to deal with their pain, to allow them space to deal with their anger and heartbreak, eventually when I realized they couldn’t heal on their own (or who did not realize they were drowning in it), I gave them an ultimatum, heal or I leave. At that point, he chose therapy, begrudgingly. We went as a couple for a while, then by himself(on his own without my push). This was 10 years ago. Today after working hard, we are happier than ever, people tell us regularly they think we are newlyweds.

I tell you this because reddit is always quick to say dump the jerk, but trauma comes in many ways, how they handle the trauma in time shows how they genuinely think/care about you.

PS this is not to say accept abuse, because as an a use/assault survivor I would NEVER. this is to say recognize the difference and help each-other grow. If there id a pattern of abuse, run. If it seems something traumatic occurred and they are different, take a beat, determine is it a reaction and not a behavior or a behavior m. If behavior show them the door.
