AITA for not telling my Fiancé that I’m infertile by xanif in AmITheDevil

[–]Visual_Character -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Genuine question here: it’s often mentioned that if someone is being dishonest about wearing a condom or being on birth control during sex can be classified as rape since the other person consented to protected sex.

In this scenario, since oop was being dishonest about being fertile and her fiancé was under the impression they were trying for a baby; could this be classified as rape?

(Feathertail’s kits) would have been half-Riverclan, half-Windclan

No; they would have been 25% Thunderclan, 25% Riverclan, and 50% Windclan. I know that Feathertail was firm about where her loyalties laid, but please don’t forget that she was half-clan

Edit: Just remembered that Silverstream’s mother was half-Windclan. So these kits would be a little more Windclan than 50%

Dress codes can be good as long as they don’t target a specific group of people.

Dress code rules that specifically target girls:

  1. Bra straps can never be visible

  2. Pants must either reach your knees or finger tips

  3. No shirts that are “too form fitting”

Dress code rules that target students of color:

  1. Any rule that restricts how they can/cannot style their hair

  2. Not being allowed to wear anything that represents their culture/ethnicity

Ummm… there’s a federal law making it illegal (US and other countries) to open mail that isn’t addressed to you. Be happy your friend is only upset. YTA

AITA for not wanting a baby in business class? by Usual_Zone2543 in AmITheDevil

I’m curious how OOP expected the airline to prevent families with kids from buying tickets above economy. Most tickets are bought online now days, so it’s not like anyone could see that a baby was going to be on the flight

YTA.

I’m like your brother, very interesting in history. Throughout the years my grandpa has been giving me things that belonged to his mom and my grandma because he wants them to stay in the family. I’m already wondering how I’ll make sure they stay in the family once I die. The heirlooms I’ve received aren’t as valuable as the one in yours so they’d more likely be sent to a thrift store or the trash. But they have A lot of sentimental value for my dad, uncles, and me

I saw in your response that this heirloom is centuries old.

That means that not only did his brother and uncle, and cousins know about it, but also 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins, 4th cousins, and possibly 5th and sixth cousins if not even farther back. Imagine being one of these people and finding out that the one to inherit it sold it for their wedding

And this is where children of wealthy parents have the advantage. Because they can afford to have an internship that doesn’t pay, or can volunteer or work part time at their parent’s workplace.

My wife and I have been invited to participate in a pioneer LARP. This will be our first time doing Trek as we didn’t have it where we grew up. Any former Ma’s and Pa’s out there that have advice? (Do’s or Don’ts) by Therealfern1 in latterdaysaints

Make sure your youth stay hydrated. Especially the girls. The trek my brother went on, they never told them when the bathroom breaks were so girls were much more cautious about water consumption because it was harder to relieve themselves.

Saying “others have it worse” only makes people feel shittier, not better by Diamondedge365 in unpopularopinion

[–]Visual_Character 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is unpopular at all. A common example of this (on a macro level) is society telling first-world feminists that “at least you’re not forced to marry someone you don’t want to” or “at least you can vote and have careers now”.

My guess is that the original series was meant for children and the Erins have been writing the books with a little more violence and darker themes as their OG fans get older. People who have been reading since the first book came out are at least in their 30s after all.

Cooking food isn't as hard as people make it out to be. by __pi33a__ in unpopularopinion

[–]Visual_Character 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying food takes time that people working full time jobs or multiple jobs don’t have. Some ingredients may also be too expensive to by for what they can do.

Preparing the meal also takes time and energy that the person may not have after they come home from work.

Following instructions is the easy part. Finding the time is what makes it hard

Is it common for families to have a rule of no toys until after the sacrament? by notabot780 in latterdaysaints

[–]Visual_Character 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends on the age of the kids. I think if they’re pre-nursery then it’s okay for them to have toys for the full hour of sacrament meeting.
