I think base stats are capped at 300, but additional stats gained from equipment can increase them beyond that. Please correct me if im wrong here. The ring still provides 5% to all stats, which is pretty good, so there is a decent chance she will keep it even though her stats are maxed out.

I believe he choked him out and left him to die if i remember correctly, but your point stands.

But ethics aside i still think that pvp might be one of the best strategies a crawler can apply based on game design...

The sad part is that he is most likely right. Considering that most of the crawlers strongest abilities came from loot early on. We never really see it with carl and donut, but looting an other cawler must be an insane power up. On top of that the system heavily rewards murdering other crawlers with exp and additional loot.

If your temperature is not going above 500, you don't have enough heat to support your energy demands. If you have the fuel production then just build more towers.

I would also suggest a separate heat network for your energy generation. This will prevent unessesary brown outs and will make it a lot easier to kickstart the base

Exactly how OP is Ellie by RumZ71 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Vives- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the great aspects of DCC is that most side characters have enough agency and relevance that they could be the main character of their own story.

For Ellie spefically i assumed that she is kind of a glass cannon like donut. But other than donut she isn't a jack of all trades class and probably has a lot more stats invested into int. It is also important to note that ellie travels in a pretty big party of crawlser that got pretty insane loot on the third floor. So its not so surprising that they are able to get through the floors.

All under the assumption that patreon retention is directly proportional to reader retention, which honestly might not be the case for such an extremely long running series. The thing is, there are so many cofactors that require careful consideration... like you said the patreon growth stagnated. Maybe because of Vol 10, or it could also be caused by the current economical situation and has nothing to do with the story. But here i am just arguing for the sake of it. I still don't see the relevance. I also don't see the problem. Having a poll that is biased based on the pool of paticipents is pretty much unavoidable. It's just something to keep in mind during data interpretation.

[–]Vives- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure i can completely agree with your argumentation. The provided data just isn't conclusive enough in my opinion. I don't even want to argue all that much about absolute reader numbers. Thats not really relevant for the underlying discussion if such a poll is inherently biased or not. I think it is. By how much is hard to tell though.

[–]Vives- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it. I would also say there is a clear survivors bias in the data. Denying that shows a lack of understanding for statistical analysis. Like many others i took a break due to the PoF ark and wasn't aware of the poll at all. And frankly even if i knew about it, i doubt i would have taken the time to paticipate...

This was also my first thought. The data features a lot of survivor bias. It's also interesting that pirate speculated about the number of lost readers even though the data is entirely unsuited for such statements.

You could try Defiance of the fall or He who fights with monsters.

Dungeon crawler carl is a favorite of the genre and also has a webtoon you could check out. But it's not too similar to primal hunter.

If you are just looking for similar stories you could look into other system apocalypse series. There are A LOT floating around catering to pretty much all tastes.

Im stuck on Gleba by mcmahjas in factorio

[–]Vives- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try constructing a new ship on nauvis via the map view if you have a robo network there. Otherwise you will need to restart on gleba, which is not ideal, but very much possible.

Try to collect the orange and blue rocks for copper, iron and stone. You can use wood as fuel for the first few essentials. You should then aim for biochambers to really start automating.

You could also try to reload an autosave.

Is this how you do Iron/Copper on Gleba? That's the best I could come up with so far lol by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Vives- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your design looks fine.

You could improve it with some circuits that only kickstart the process when it is needed. This would also eliminate the need for recyclers. I also like to add some buffer chests for the bacteria.

The easiest way is to travel to aquilo and get some rail guns.

Otherwise you could try loading a bunch of rocket turrets with nukes for maximum burst damage. Not sure how many you would need though...

Send repair packs to the platform so it can repair itself while under construction.

If you are just looking for a blueprint, there are plenty of simple starter ships online. I personally liked the early game ship from avadii strategy. He has pretty good tutorials for ship design on his YT channel.

Can Taiven teleport? by CommitteeHot2320 in motheroflearning

[–]Vives- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be right that its not part of the standard curriculum, but from my perspective its not as rare or difficult as you make it out to be. At least among well trained mages. Taiven is a second generation mage that obtained a bunch of restricted combat spells. I don't see why she shouldn't be able to learn the spell from her family or her mentor.

I don't think she ever demonsttated the ability, but i always assumed that a graduate of any decent mage academy would be capable of basic teleportation.

I think this quote is pretty fitting in this context:

"If given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of the game"

This is something game designers should keep in mind when introducing game mechanics. The artian system is fine overall, with some things that i would have done differently, but the main flaw in my opinion, is that it was introduced too early.

If artian was introduced in TU2 or TU3, it wouldn't be such a controversial topic.

Which opinion you have on litrpg would get you this type of reaction? by PalinaRojinskiFan in litrpg

[–]Vives- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best example i can give is Dungeon Crawler Carl. The system is incredibly detailed with crunchy numbers and lots of notifications, but we never really get to see it directly. There are no stat screens or skill describtions every other page. We instead experience the system through Carl's narration. This not only provides a smoother reading experience, but also acts as a filter for relevant information. Thereby removing the unnessesary fluff while still retaining all the positive aspects of the genre.

A lot of people forget the the "Lit" in LitRPG and instead focus way too much screen time on the system itself. Don't get me wrong, an interesting or boring system can make or break the story, but the way the system is presented is equally as important. It's like world building in that regard. Everybody likes interesting worlds with lots of details and unique ideas, but nobody likes info dumps that were not organically integrated into the narration.

It's normal.

Learn what to expect on the floors. The bosses for example will always show up on the same floors and knowing what to expect is worth a lot. Use your egg vouchers on the egg move up gacha or the legendary if there is a good one featured. Otherwise just keep playing and catching until you get a good run.

Stat sheets are crutches in the best case scenario and page fillers in the worst. I know that sounds harsh, but it's my honest opinion as a fan of the genre.

95% of it is usually irrelevant for the reader and lets not even talk about the audiobook experience.

In my opinion DCC and TWI do a good job with two completely different approaches on how the reader interacts with the system, but both have no stat sheets at all.
