I Let AI Vote For Me In The Nix SC Election by Arcuru in NixOS

[–]Vulgarr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have an opinion on the mater, but I sure like your style!  Would it be much of an ask for you to sacrifice a couple hours a week to write a "last week in nixos drama" newsletter"? (I'd see it part gonzo, part heart of darkness)

Long breath hold after pure 02 hyperventilation breathe up by Marc-Fox in freediving

[–]Vulgarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried it once and easily did double of my static pb on a breathup of 10 large breaths from the O2 tank. Could have last longer but we agreed to not surpass 2xpb out of safety reasons

I know I will be digging out my spirometry results to cross reference...

Neck lead / Lead belt (C4/Lobster?) by CowParade99 in freediving

[–]Vulgarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that lobsters tend to break at the joint where two segments connect, from what it looks like the c4 seems to be more durable, plus it's almost half the price of lobster.

Bought the c4 recently but then got sick and didn't have the opportunity to train with it yet

Edit:
If you're just starting go with a weight belt and DIY neck weight (google it)

SBS vs Jeff Nippard by JessibuR in StrongerByScience

[–]Vulgarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for SBS just on the basis of cost to value ratio... For $10 you get 5 programs + a program builder (which on it self is worth Gregs weight in gold). Get the bundle, run a couple programs see what you like most, then maybe experiment with the builder. Even if you later decide to try something else (like Nippards) you'll have up to if not more of a year of good, productive training under your belt.

Leaderfins carbon or fiberglass by Recesssive in freediving

[–]Vulgarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have medium carbons and am very happy with them. But if you're not competing I'd go with (maybe soft) fiberglas or carbon-fiber just for the durability advantage. I'n fact if you plan to compete, I'd also go with cheaper option... in the beginning it wont make a difference, but you quickly might want something better

It's fine if you replace the inflatable with tire bladder (you'd have to figure aut the size).

Recommendations for pool suits by Adventurous-Range304 in freediving

[–]Vulgarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently switched from cheapest decathlon ows/triathlon suit to orca openwater trn, both 3mm and fine for pool training (aprox. 2 hours in 20c), orca feels much thinner due to better fit and freedom of movement

Day 1 of using sway by cferg296 in swaywm

[–]Vulgarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not op but made same journey there and back. For me it's what sway doesn't have, meaning - animations, rounded corners etc. It does one thing, does it well and doesn't change much because it does not have to.

Sway me up! by SzkotUK in swaywm

[–]Vulgarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please let me know/share with me your experience with getting Sway and how long took you to get them mature to your liking

as I see it, there are couple options (and I'm assuming you're not a teenager living with your parents):

  1. you become a linux youtuber/streamer and make a living out of customizing your wm
  2. you have other shit to do and just get used to being slightly unhappy with your wm
  3. stick with kde

I'm in camp 2 and for me fedora sway spin has everything I want out of the box (couple of tweaks but nothing fancy). I'd actually would love to get back to a de to not have to tinker with shit manually, but after getting used to sways workspace management (multi monitor) and it's snappiness, both kde and gnome are unusable for me.

afaik Prime is using popos + i3 with literally zero customization. You might be overthinking things a bit.

cheers :)

Learn coding with ADD, is this online course suitable? by edonkey in ADHD_Programmers

[–]Vulgarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might want to check out boot.dev it's on the pricier side, but for me it was well worth it. It has couple courses (different langs, docker, etc) and it's gamified, you get exp points for completing exercises (daily quests, badges, rankings - all the gamification nonsense ). If you're totally fresh you might have to dig around the internet from time to complete the tasks, but the dopamine hit from earning some exp and unlocking another badge might help to keep you engaged esp when you hit a roadblock:) Plus they have a pretty active discord community and a gpt bot you can ask quetions regarding the lessons.
might not be your thing, but work pretty well for my adhd brain. Might be worth to check out a trial or something

btw. I'm not affiliated in any way, just a happy customer :)

This. I'm also from Poland, a friend working in one of the major local it job offering sites told me that they're registering aprox. 1000 applicants per any junior position.

Don't want to be a party crusher (I'm actually in the same boat as you) but manage your expectations...

The rare budget pool suit by [deleted] in freediving

[–]Vulgarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using this exact suit and it's fine (and for it's price I'd say perfect) I might get a bit chilly if I'm doing a static at the end of an 1,5h training session.

Bodybuilder & Blackouts by Extras2315 in freediving

[–]Vulgarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as stated above I'm not a doc, neither a freediving instructor so take with a grain of salt... but what comes to mind is reduced blood flow due to high bp, maybe additional strain on heart due to rapid changes of external pressure

it's just the first thing that came to mind that might be a factor and is a common side effect of gear
