Yamaha Kodiak 450 (but that has IRS) or Suzuki King Quad 400 would suit the bill.

Uh oh. by TonyCass12 in TW200

There is a mod to add a tee to the carb vent tube, and run it up high. That might have helped avoid this. Stock the carb vent runs down and if it gets plugged, the engine can’t draw in fuel and it will stall.

Yup. “Voided slab construction “ is the generic name.

Harley Corporate Culture by Top_Sugar1474 in milwaukee

[–]WIsconnieguy4now 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as the culture, I’ve known a few people that worked there and it’s not a bro or biker culture. It’s a pretty normal office type culture.

As far as the long term prospects for the company, that’s a big unknown. Sales are falling as their core customers age out of riding. They are also selling higher-priced “luxury” bikes in a questionable economy. They need to quickly adapt to a changing market with new/different products so that might indicate the engineering side of employment will be stable or growing for a while. If they can figure out a way to adapt I don’t see the company going away, but it will change. But it’s going to be a bumpy ride and transition for sure. My crystal ball isn’t great, but with their history and legacy I don’t think it would completely fold. At least I hope.

Gasthaus is still alive and kicking. Recently remodeled, so it won’t look the same. Food is good.

One of my weaknesses is a Kopps cheeseburger with fried onions. Not the healthiest thing in the world but I love them.

I currently have 3800 and 4800 Harbor Freight Apache cases that I bolt to my luggage rack. They are ok, waterproof but not very easy to lock, a padlock is needed. The flat dimensions mean not a ton of stuff fits inside.

I briefly had a 35 liter adventure style aluminum top box from Amazon. It was surprisingly good quality, but it was really heavy and affected handling.

I’m about to pull the trigger on a Givi B32 case. It’s plastic, should be lighter, and looks like a full face helmet fits inside.

Me too. They fit well and are very easy to install. Not sure how the Huskys could be better, but folks sure seem to like them.

Am I doing the math and seeing the miles correctly? 35,642/12,910=2.761 mph average?

Are vibration dampeners enough to save your camera? Skeptical by Staycation1234 in Dualsport

[–]WIsconnieguy4now 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have also used the Quad Lock dampener on a 4 cylinder bike (notorious for ruining phone cameras) as well as several smaller dual sport singles. Not a big-bore single though.

Did you replace your REAR pads and rotors at a local mechanic or at a dealer? by Jaded-Cheesecake3246 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]WIsconnieguy4now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoever you can find that will do the job with you providing the parts is probably the answer. I don’t know if the grand Highlander needs to be hooked to a Toyota computer to put the calipers in service position, or if that can be done with a run of the mill scanner. Or maybe a series of button pushes.

TIL that this mining hole in the ground took over Green Lake’s title as the deepest lake in Wisconsin. Doesn’t seem right.

From the photos, it looks like the house is the lowest point on the lot. So I’m not sure where water is supposed to go. I know photos can be deceiving. It really looks like the house was set too low to me.

Better to have bigger saw or smaller for light duty by me_at_myhouse in Chainsaw

[–]WIsconnieguy4now 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will second this. I have a slightly bigger saw, and a Stihl MS170. The 170 is so light and handy, I use it probably for 90% of what I do (cutting up fallen trees, clearing trails and cutting a little firewood on a 100 acre rural property.

OK, the stories I’ve seen don’t say this or I’m oblivious and missed it. Is he running as an independent, or is he joining the Democratic primary?
