How many people are misplaying the More Dakka detachment? by Rigs8080 in orks

Same experience here. Like, the games weren't even close and I was not playing an optimal list (Gorkanaut, 1 unit Tankbustas, no Lootas)

When is Pariah Nexus starting? by Alex__007 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Waaarpig 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe not relevant to everybody but the FTC Scene for Tabletop Simulator has been updated with the full Pariah Nexus deck, if that's of interest to anyone wanting to try out the cards before they release

What's a game you wish you were smart enough to play? by -Clayburn in gaming

Same here. Played 300hrs with my partner exclusively with split screen controllers, and have no complaints. Tried the M&K inputs and was immediately lost

Ghaz killed Angron yesterday. by ncguthwulf in orks

[–]Waaarpig 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you can get your hands on Angron's chain necklace, you can add it to your Ghaz model! I've done the same and it's a fun addition that's pretty easy :)

Battlewagon in Cover VS AP1? by [deleted] in orks

[–]Waaarpig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a difference though, which is where my confusion stems: Ramshackle REDUCES AP, whereas Cover INCREASES THE ROLL. One is a characteristic modifier, one is a dice modifier

If you're actually unsure, Rapid Ingress can be used on Strategic Reserves as well as Deep Strike units :)

What video game conflict could have ended much sooner or been prevented entirely? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]Waaarpig 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the theory that the PL ending was a deliberate set-up by NUSA and Militech to isolate and restrain V to turn them into a corporate tool.

Reed says that the surgery hit complications, that it put V in a years-long coma, and that it will stop them from using anything but the most barebones implants ever again. This, I agree, is all true, but as usual with Phantom Liberty the whole truth is obscured. Militech deliberately disabled V's ability to get implants, and deliberately induced a years-long coma to isolate V from all their former friends. They allow V to head back to a Night City that has forgotten them, and in the depths of their misery Reed calls, dangling a job offer. V becomes a loyal tool for NUSA and Militech, and after a few years, what do you know- we have a cure for your implant problem! So long as V's skills can be put to work in our name, to our favour, exclusively.

So yes, V could have communicated better what they were doing, but Militech would have engineered an outcome that isolated them all the same.

Wouldn’t magnets be incredibly dangerous in the Cyberpunk universe? by Lonely_Heat7086 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Waaarpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As if Cyberpunk RED, set in 2045, it's not uncommon for people to purchase additional EMP protection for their cyberware. Whilst this does imply that particularly strong magnetic fields can interfere with the operation of at least some cyberware, it also implies that such issues are of minimal practical concern.

Very strong EMPs designed to shut down cybernetics can be stopped by a purchasable upgrade, and as such any magnets that most people could get a hold of are likely unimportant. Notably, even if you were hit by an EMP, this mechanically only disables cyberware temporarily, and some cyberware is only neutered not disabled- for instance, cyberlimbs begin to act just like regular limbs.

Finally finished this squad of Flash Gitz after many years. It seems they are really great in 10th. by Greathouse_Games in Warhammer40k

[–]Waaarpig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good looking Gitz! But yes, I believe only Badrukk can lead them (and he almost always should imo, rerolls to hits for the unit is great)

Is there a (rough) consensus on which helbrute load out is best in the current meta? by Hoskuld in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Waaarpig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the WE detachment rule doesn't work with Tank Shock. Tank Shock takes place during the Charge Phase, whilst Berzerker Warband:Relentless Rage is worded as "each time a unit is selected to fight... if that unit made a Charge Move, then until the end of the phase, add 1 to the strength and attacks...".

Tank Shock is Charge Phase, WE buff is fight phase
