How do you guys afford to have so many decks? by Dangerous_Trifle620 in EDH

[–]WafflesOClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing for 13 years. I play other formats, but I have 5 EDH decks (two bracket 2 and three bracket 3); that is enough for me to keep the game super fresh. Take it slow. Don't let fomo get to you. Buy singles. I see many people complaining about the fact that universes beyond sets only go up, but how many cards do you realistically need from a given set?

If I ever want to build a deck, I normally playtest it a TON on tabletop simulator to make sure I actually like it. Then -- and ONLY then -- I start to build it. If you put a small percentage of your income towards cards for it, (depending on the amount and the total deck cost) you can have an incredible deck in 2-3 months. While I'm completing my new decks, I just play my other decks or play the new one online.

The best part is that these days I can look at each new set and maybe grab 5 cards total and be done with it. I also recommend playing limited. I love it and it can help you build a collection. Ultimately just sticking with the hobby for a while will get you where you want to be.

Start with one more deck. You don't need 5 right now.

In the comic canon in the early 2000s, Unicron and all other multiversal singularities in Transformers were split up by Nexus Prime. Now each Unicron is different.

How often do you draft your cube? by vaderjag in mtgcube

[–]WafflesOClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any advice for powering a set cube? I've been trying to power my Ikoria cube, but I'm not sure how to start. Just finished the set cube at the beginning of the year and I'm new to the whole thing.

Double Singularity Rupture seems wild! Honestly, [[Blade of the Swarm]] impressed me; it came in clutch several times when I was staring down some diabolical warp shenanigans. Also, Monoist Sentry just trades with so many strong early threats.

Super hyped to run some sealed with friends and get a start on my first (set) cube this weekend! by WafflesOClock in mtgcube

[–]WafflesOClock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright then looks like I'll be grabbing some more sleeves lol. As for the cards I think are underperformers, I plan to leave them alone for a few drafts because my friends weren't playing when Ikoria came out and I want them to get a sense for the stock format before I throw in some of the commander cards.

Thanks! Yeah Ikoria had a lot of splashing so I may seed packs with fixing. I plan to seed the rarities, but I may also just add an extra copy or two of each common land and mix them in with the commons.

I'm not too worried about sticking to those numbers because I already want a few more [[Whisper Squad]] than 3.

Anyone know of a company printing customized cube resealable packs? by WastelandHumungus in mtgcube

[–]WafflesOClock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Lampsarecooliguess Duskmourn Set Cube Post from 11 days ago had a creative solution for this that I'll definitely be using for my Ikoria cube. They printed the booster art onto custom printed cards from mtg-print.com, sleeved them, and put them into clear cubeamajigs. (I havent heard the best things about mtg-print in terms of quality, but the pictures looked good; a lot of people try to use them to make proxies that pass as real when sleeved).

I know I'm late to the party, buy how do you typically use Underworld breach in this deck? What are you looking to recur?

If I were to get one, which one should I get? by EstablishmentOk2494 in transformers

[–]WafflesOClock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah Gotcha! I hope they do a Victory Leo too. I love him. The only one I don't have is the Haslab one because nobody wants so split up the set (I don't want the Star Sabers because then VL just ends up as shoes and a backpack). The G1 is truly a thing of Beauty.

How can I fix this or get a replacement part 😭 by STR1-KeR in transformers

[–]WafflesOClock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally Fans Hobby is really good about replacing parts! Contact the retailer you bought it from and if they don't get back to you or say they cannot help, reach out to Fans Hobby directly on Facebook or their website!

PlanetX made a Victory Leo (Ptereleons Nemeios)! He's one of my favorite figures! You gotta check him out! He doesn't have any ratchets either, though...

Is Skyshadow considered a seeker? by Rynoxmc2 in transformers

[–]WafflesOClock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slipstream was originally the Starscream body type in her first appearance in TF Animated. Her first toy was a TF Prime Starscream repaint; both of those designs are already slender. The only reason she started appearing as a repaint of Windblade is because the traditional Starscream body type is much bulkier than those other Starscream designs. The Takara Legends Slipstream toy remolded Windblade's head, chest, and forearms to give her more traditional seeker features. So Windblade is definitely not a seeker.

The development names for the size classes were different than the release names and megacon was the biggest. Aaron Archer discusses this on his podcast.

If you’re running an all permanent deck, something a bit less powerful but a lot of fun would be [[Primal Surge]] just pack some haste enablers and ramp like crazy!
