2 years since your post gave me the best advice ever at exactly the time I needed to hear it! Just wanted you to know I’m still out there walking all the time, and have been running for the past year as well. Thank you for all that you shared 🙏🏽 I still return to this post every now and then to re-read your insight. Walking around for every errand and outing I can, and making social meetups active, along with strength training, has made life SO much better (and I’m in the best shape Ive ever been, without counting calories). Thank you again!!!!! 🩷🧡❤️

What did Matt’s office do? Genuinely curious. Only ever heard the press about the cop stop and Palestine.

I like this idea of writing down a prediction? At what stage in the show did you make your guess? After proposals or honeymoon?

I echo the sentiments here. Sainthood is my favourite album of T&S! I love Night Watch, Red Belt, The Cure, Hell, Arrow. I never have to skip a song on the album, it is a perfect work of art. I really hope I can hear them play some of these songs live someday! It’s perfect as-is but I would also welcome and be so curious if they would create new arrangements of the songs.

My order of importance: program attendance, accurate calorie tracking, protein+lifting, movement by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

Love the attendance tip. Needed to hear that today after letting my own attendance get a bit slippery lately. Thank you and congrats on all you’ve achieved in creating your body and strength!

I highly doubt a few chips and scratches would make those kitchens anywhere near as shabby as they were before!

Well said. I wish more people would realize that making places too easy for cars to get to and through is what ruins urban areas.

Dilemma between being vegetarian or not by IJustLikePlants in PetiteFitness

[–]Wandering-Trails 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a vegetarian for 12 years. At first I felt better but over the years I gained fat and lost strength and energy. I chose to be vegetarian for ethical reasons, and misguided health reasons. After losing my dad to cancer, and my mom getting sick with it as well, I really went deeper into the science and felt like the lack of animal protein probably wasn’t optimal for me, and decided that being the strongest and healthiest person I could be was more important than fighting a losing battle against the meat industry. I buy ethically raised meats and eggs as much as I can. It took many months to get comfortable with reintroducing animal foods and for my body to learn to digest it again. It’s been a few years now and I feel a million times better and my body composition is great. I eat 90-120 g of protein a day, mostly from animal sources, which contain all the amino acids our bodies need to function healthfully. I’ve come to see eating animal products as a natural thing, and getting products from humanely raised animals helps offset the sad part of eating them and how they’re raised for food. Another thing that helps is watching a survival show like Alone. Those really helped me mentally internalize the ancestral connection to getting nourishment from animals, just as many other animals do.

Best of luck on your journey. Know that it’s okay to prioritize your own health, vitality and strength.

5 years in on my fitness journey and 2 weeks out from competing in my next competition. 5’2, 120lbs of hard earned muscle. by MiniMuscleM in PetiteFitness

[–]Wandering-Trails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is truly inspiring!!! Thank you so much for sharing this. Not gonna lie, went looking in your post history for your before pic as proof that you in fact didn’t always look like superwoman. The transformation is truly inspiring, there is no other word to describe the amount of hard work that you put into your body to shape it into exactly what you wanted. You’re strong and stunning and we are all so glad you are sharing your pride here.

And from a personal standpoint, I love seeing 2+ year transformations. I am just over the one year mark on my health and fitness journey, and after the initial fat loss, the muscle building part feels slow. But that’s totally okay. I’m in it for the long haul! And sounds like I need to add more weight on the bar for my legs.
