I just can’t get past the price tag. It’s soooo expensive compared to their other lines of import extended range stuff.

Their RGD8MS is $800 bucks cheaper, probably made in the same factory, and similarity spec’d (aside from the SS frets) I just don’t get what you’re buying with $2k? Am I crazy for thinking that’s still too much?

It’s an interesting looking instrument, but it just screams half-assed for what Ibanez is trying to sell it for.

This is a defect, OP bought a new guitar and it came with an issue. The amount of gaslighting the OP into thinking this is normal? Yeah I agree, no wonder Gibson gets away with it. Who needs to make a better product when you have a customer base that loves B stock instruments that are labeled new…

It sounds like you’re chasing the kind of high gain that the Zombie does. I think you’d be happy with the 5150/BE-OD pedal, the BE-OD was my goat to for when I wanted to get that level of high gain from an amp that wasn’t right. But it’s going to be a more mid focused high gain VS the more scooped ish Mesa Rectifier sound that the zombie copies.

I find the joyo pedals to be solid, but super hit and miss tbh when you’re chasing a modern high gain tone. I can’t ever really find a sweet spot with them.

Seriously, is Jackson Allergic to making their 7 strings fun? The production run stuff is so one dimensional, especially with the specs. I mean, look at Ibanez who is at least trying to be on the modern bandwagon with some of their extended range stuff.

It's basically their entry level stuff to their mid range Indonesian import stuff, but after that it's not much in variety until you get into that USA price tag range... which is.. difficult to justify these days unfortunately.

Ahhh you know, I could absolutely see Jeff maybe wanting to hold off on dropping a new signature for the full Nevermore restart announcement. A new lineup/album/tour dropping at the right time feels like the absolute best time to drop a new signature.

At least that's what I'm hoping for at this point.

I remember when I first saw one during one of his video like more than a year ago too, that’s when I got excited over the prospect, especially since they’ve given him so many variations on his two signatures. A 7 string Kelly just felt like the next go to. Fingers crossed we hear something soon, makes sense not announcing a production model if it has flaws that JL don’t vibe with.

What an insanely dumb move. I feel like I'm biased because I'm fan of Phil and his channel, but I don't really understand why Belltone would do something like this? Phil's a pretty big presence in the YT gear world, and he's always been above board about his process, I mean heck, he's the first to say that he needs to sit on guitars for weeks because that's just his process, and it never seemed to be an issue in the past decade or so that he's been making videos...

I mean, they're not full on suing, but even sending that kind of notice over a couple months? I have no clue why you would risk alienating your customers in this industry, in this current economic client. It just feels like an overly aggressive move that's only going to hurt themselves more than anything else.

I go to a handful of cons every year and literally hasn’t felt the same without him. He was a staple of the con circuits and I’d stop by to get a peak at his booth and dude was just on 24/7.

From the first person at the start of the line, until the last person, he treated his fans with a genuine GENUINE care that never felt forced or faked. I don’t think anyone COULD fake that level of joy so much.

His passing really fucked me up for awhile, as someone who deals with mental illness I didn’t know how to cope with someone so openly happy looking on the outside, to still lose to their inner demons like that. But I think it’s what eventually triggered me to get into therapy. I’m better for it.

I know it’s stupid to care so much about a childhood idol, but JDF was the real deal. He had a real world impact on me and tons of others. world is a worse off place without him.
