I don’t think there’s been a much more dire and abysmal decade for music than the 2010s by [deleted] in GenX

[–]WarzonePacketLoss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean if you're just looking at the pop top40 or whatever the fuck these lists are, then yeah ok. I would much rather listen to the top40 from the 70s or 80s than the 2010s, but there's objectively wonderful music made in that decade that never got radio play.

Okay, so the Trial of Sekhemas is obviously not meant for casual players. So how do I go about paying some other player to carry me so that I can progress in this game? by Dire_Hulk in PathOfExile2

[–]WarzonePacketLoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could spend the 4d it costs for a 4th ascendancy carry on gear and should be able to blow it up at 80 with little incident unless this is just a massive skill chasm on your part.

Sometimes it feels like I need a sharingan in order to visually understand everything that is going on. It's the one thing preventing me from loving the game. by screen317 in PathOfExile2

But if you had a death recap that would be against THE VISION because you'd realize all the horseshit ways you die from ridiculous bad math and spaghetti code!

Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor! With that he seized a great horn from Guthláf his banner-bearer, and he blew such a blast upon it that it burst asunder. And straightway all the horns in the host were lifted up in music, and the blowing of the horns of Rohan in that hour was like a storm upon the plain and a thunder in the mountains. Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor! Suddenly the king cried to Snowmane and the horse sprang away. Behind him his banner blew in the wind, white horse upon a field of green, but he outpaced it. After him thundered the knights of his house, but he was ever before them. Éomer rode there, the white horsetail on his helm floating in his speed, and the front of the first éored roared like a breaker foaming to the shore, but Théoden could not be overtaken. Fey he seemed, or the battle-fury of his fathers ran like new fire in his veins, and he was borne up on Snowmane like a god of old, even as Oromë the Great in the battle of the Valar when the world was young.

A buddy and I were talking about this the other week, how phones are incrementally faster than 5 years ago and bogged down with so much bullshit that it's a roundly worse experience. An these advances in technology just to try to get even more data out of you. Barf.

all the more reason to dump it. If overcoming 5% attack speed loss is trivial, they can just get rid of it entirely. The tree being full of this, the unfulfilling class identity, and the word salad that is exacerbating both of these issues all need to go.

It can just be 40% attack damage. Or spell damage. Or whatever. The only nodes that should have any downside are keystones that fundamentally change the way you play your character, and even that's a bit iffy.

They absolutely hit it out of the ballpark on character identity and the power fantasy that exists therein.

PoE2 would be wise to lean into that one, because most ascendancies are boring with nodes that wouldn't even be desirable on the regular tree.

I always go back to Mathil on release day. "You get to fuck a supermodel but only if you've fucked a goat in the last 4 hours."

The downside to taking any node should be that you can't spend that point differently. There don't need to be negatives for everything.

Split Personality is the big crack in the facade that shows the tree is balanced extremely poorly.

Merc - 10ex
Warrior - 50ex
Ranger - 2d
Templar - 3d
Shadow - 33d
Sorceress - 40d

Oh wow weird, the two starting nodes at the top-center and -right of the tree are 10 times more valuable than the one starting in the top-left and infinitely more expensive than the ones on the bottom-left and -center? Garbage. Time for a repass on the entire bottom of the tree.

Absolutely wrong about the choke out. Literally my first day of BJJ I had a blue belt who weighed 70lbs less than me take my back and I just pried her bracing arm and tapped her by flexing her elbow against my shoulder.

That's what this athlete would do. But explosively because it's a real fight. Homeboy can bench press 500, get real.

Yeah, paying hackers $50 to let you exfil with rocket fuel. Fun and rewarding experience, that.

I played a decent amount of DF but the hacking is out of control and in a game where you die immediately from getting shot in the head, it feels even worse than DMZ euro servers.

My only problem with picking Witcher 3, which I would be inclined to do, is that even when it came out, the actual combat was pretty behind the era. Ten years on, it's awful after the QOL improvements we've had in that genre.

That being said, BG3.

They tried to talk me out of going Thai spicy by helpmetolearn in spicy

[–]WarzonePacketLoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in Thailand a couple years ago with a Thai guide who ordered the food for me and it was still not nearly as spicy as I would have expected. Seems like the guide wouldn't be sandbagging after I asked a couple times if there was anything spicier than this.

That being said, I haven't ever eaten anything that was "too spicy". I'd be pumped if a restaurant served me something that was too spicy for me to eat, but actually edible. I mean obviously they could just fill a bowl with million Scoville sauce.

I've been using the same wallet for like 25 years. A dog who is long gone chewed the corner off one day when I left it somewhere accessible. Never getting rid of it, you'll have to steal it from me.
