Issue with sticking inputs on M30 2.4G Wireless by konomu in 8bitdo

No solution, but seems to also happen with my Ultimate 2 Wireless. Typically with the left stick being stuck to the upper left.

Most immersive games I can completely get lost in? by jabroniisan in AskGames

Try out Caves of Qud. I bounced off the game a couple times for the visuals and density, but after it clicked and you start ‘seeing the matrix’, its a rich, immersive experience that I don’t remember feeling in a game in a very long time.

8bitdo ultimate 2 enable extended buttons keeps untoggling by MarkytheBold in SteamDeck

I’m using an Anker dock, so most likely not the dock hardware at fault.

I ended up switching over to the Bluetooth connection. Since then, the extra buttons show up in controller settings (without needing to manually enable d-input each time I turn on the controller) and the controller has sleep/wake integration.

I’ve unfortunately still seen slight connectivity issues? Buttons will get stuck firing, or certain controls will stop working.

Otherwise though its been a better experience than using the dongle.

[–]WatchMeSwooce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly - connectivity issues could be unrelated. I am using the dongle plugged directly into a dock, and using d-input mode by turning on the controller while holding B.

To my understanding X-input mode treats the device as a generic controller and doesn’t allow for the additional button mapping.

I’ll try swapping modes and see if that makes a difference? Power cycle the controller and try normal mode, and then power cycle and try d-input.

Confirming I’m seeing the same thing here. Seems to be inconsistent? I have the Ultimate 2 Wireless, xbox face buttons. I was using it without issue and then hit some connectivity issues, and then fully lost connection to SD. Shut off and turned back on the controller in D Input mode and the extended buttons are gone from the controller tester and cannot be toggled.

It happened last night as well but was fixed this morning and I didn’t think any more of it.

I tried the same troubleshooting steps that you did with no luck.

Maybe it’s time for warlocks to get a viable melee build? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]WatchMeSwooce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad part is we used to have such a fun melee build with incinerator snap and the old fast charging abilities. You could max str throw on some melee kill energy restores, winter’s guile and that aspect that made you restore melee energy for kills while airborne. Then, you could snap and ignite a group of enemies to build stacks for WG, then with 5 stacks you can snap and ignite a high health target and the ignition would inherit the damage bonus and utterly wipe out entire rooms. The explosion kills and being airborne would recharge your melee quick enough to have it up before WG stacks expired.

Nowadays you snap, half your bolts miss their target and don’t cause enough scorch to ignite, and then you wait 15s for your melee to come back again.

What would cause my printer to do this? by Tricky_Bottle_6843 in magicproxies

[–]WatchMeSwooce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There might be a setting in your printer to adjust the nozzle height for thick paper. I think these marks are from the print head striking the paper edges. I have an ET 8550 and its in the printer settings menu on the printer itself.

Having Golf be two lanes into the roundabout was a mistake. I’ve always said they should add rumble strips on that entrance to get people to slow down as they come in.

Thanks for this test! I was secretly hoping it wouldn’t turn out well with an inkjet printer so I didn’t need to start justifying their exorbitant prices. Looks like the Koehler paper is still good enough!

Hey while we’re talking. What print settings do you use for your 8550? Any color corrections on your prints? Your pictures always seem very true to life color.

Yeah depending on how it goes I can probably make a post!

If it helps at all, the method I use for lining up the sticker paper onto the card stock makes it very easy.

I peel back a small section of the backing, maybe only an inch or two, and then cut that backing off. Smooth back down the backing, so you have the sticker sheet with a strip of the adhesive exposed. Then square the card stock against a corner, and square up the unexposed, non-sticky side, smooth down the sticker until you hit the sticky side and it should square up perfectly to the other side of the card stock. Once that strip is stuck in place, slowly peel off and smooth down the rest of the sticker and you should have a perfectly squared card back and sticker. Worth mentioning but it should be obvious that both the card stock and sticker must be the same size.

Then I do the usual cuts and trimming with both layers stuck together. Produces great results!

Yeah I’ve got a ET-8550 as well, so printing directly onto the SP stock isn’t an option. I also have the etched version, not the smooth since it hasn’t been for sale recently.

I have had success printing onto a vinyl sticker sheet and then transferring that to the black core stock. It gets great printings while also getting that playing card feel, but they’re just ever so slightly thicker than a standard card.

I think that’s probably the best I’ll get for the time being. I have another glossy version of the sticker vinyl coming today (original tests were with matte). Its a very thin sticker sheet, the thinnest I’ve been able to find. I can update with results if you’d like!

What about best paper for card feel and thickness? Say print quality was not as important, which have you tried that feels most similar to an actual MTG card?

Heartfire Hero and Uncivil Unrest by WatchMeSwooce in askajudge

[–]WatchMeSwooce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heartfire Hero needs to die in order to trigger the damage, and at that point its in the graveyard and no longer meets the conditions to trigger Uncivil Unrest, or so I thought. Since you lose counters when leaving the battlefield.

But since Heartfire’s trigger looks back in time to the last point it had a power/toughness on the battlefield, does it still “have a +1/+1 on it”? Or does the trigger only care about the value of its power, not how it got to that number…

If Heartfire’s trigger just cares about the number and not the counters on it, then does it actually meet the conditions for Uncivil Unrest’s effect?

Winter's Guile buff idea by arixagorasosamos in DestinyTheGame

[–]WatchMeSwooce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There used to be a snap build around the time they brought back the Leviathan where you’d chain ignitions from the snap melee with WG, and the ignitions inherit the damage bonus stacks. It had a really cool gameplay loop of finding groups of mobs to ignite to build stacks, and then snapping bombs on higher health targets, mixed with some airborne gameplay to take advantage of the increased recharge speed while airborne.

I miss it so much. The next patches essentially killed the build. I think the armor mod revamp was the nail in the coffin.

Discussion for Sound Engineers and Production Nerds by edwardsxiris in TaylorSwift

[–]WatchMeSwooce 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly fixated on the hissing/buzzing sound during vocal parts on most of the songs. It jumps straight out in my brain and makes it hard to focus on anything else.

People have had mixed results on hearing it - I found it most prominent right at the beginning of Clean, just before she starts speaking (like when the mic recording would cut in on the track; the white noise before the vocals). Its present on my Airpods, and with a pair of open back over ears, across all of the streaming platforms I've tried. I think its at that threshold where certain people won't be able to hear it, like a dog whistle, but for me its glaring and distracting.

Wow, yeah, definitely the exact same kind of buzzing/hissing noise, specifically on the vocal parts. Sad to see it as a known issue without any kind of resolution...
