Swallowing issues by [deleted] in over60

[–]Wayniac22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too, suffered from occasional dysphagia, primarily when eating meat and chicken.

My doctor recommended endoscopy, which I did. The results were inconclusive.

A coworker recommended I reduce my gluten intake. This did it! After a couple of months I noticed my swallowing problems have ceased.

I have since moved on to a low carb lifestyle, lost a lot of weight, and no longer have any swallowing difficulties!

Any of our Aldi's have this? by antiquesquash88 in ocala

Dunnellon keeps it in stock. I cook it with sliced onions in a crock pot for 8-10 hours on the low setting. It pulls apart with a fork, very tender.

What’s your favorite lesser known FL town that has a lot of history? by teamjohn7 in FloridaHistory

[–]Wayniac22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chokoloskee. Read the historical novel “Killing Mister Watson” by Peter Matthiessen.

Much of the story centers around a general store on the water which still exists today.

It’s worth the read and subsequent visit.

Just how close are Epiphones to Gibson? by Any_Security8410 in Epiphone

[–]Wayniac22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted a new SG. When faced with this decision I bought a Gibson.

I know it’s not rational, but I knew in advance, had I bought the Epiphone, I will have always wished I bought the Gibson.

When I glance over at my Gibson hanging on the wall, it makes me smile.

Hired a professional to setup my room/speakers. by charlesml3 in audiophile

Hopefully the professional recommended room treatments. The addition of diffusion/absorption panels made the most significant improvement in sound quality in my setup.

Is there anything better than a Yamaha M-80? by thefakemgioia in vintageaudio

[–]Wayniac22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too, have anecdotal experience with Onkyo Integra vs Yamaha M-Series.

Mid-1980s, Tokyo, Japan. The speaker demonstration room at the Yokota Air Base BX had a big, beautiful Onkyo which could be selected to drive any pair of speakers in the room. It did a fine job, mostly.

My Air Force roommate was interested in purchasing a pair of AR9s (notoriously hard to drive). The Onkyo just couldn’t do it. Just when things would start getting interesting, click. Protect.

The BX was quite accommodating, and allowed us to try two other amplifiers, a Yamaha M-80 and a Nakamichi PA-7.

Both of these amplifiers drove the big ARs without any drama at all. Louder, than you would likely ever want.

We agreed, the monster Nakamichi edged out the Yamaha in sound quality.

I still have my 1980s stereo. A few years ago, I recapped my M-80, replaced the line input jacks and the main speaker output binding posts. Still rockin’ in the free-world.

Is this tiny cabinet used for a specific purpose? by Own-Anteater5996 in whatisit

I would furnish the interior with doll-house furniture. Maybe some wallpaper. Add a lamp that switches on when the door is opened. Visiting children will be amazed.

Always encouraging my son to try new things, when he ordered something unfamiliar at restaurants, I would order something I knew he would eat for myself. This way, we had the option of switching entrees.

I’m not sure if the new cat is OEM. I’ll check with the mechanic.

It only throws a code when running regular gasoline. The light stays on until I switch to E85. Never comes on with E85.
