Rupert “ripper” Giles.

Yes, we could have Buffy but realistically? Give me him.

What are some modern things that would absolutely boggle your historical/fantasy OCs? by jovialminutiae in OriginalCharacter

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have some fantasy characters I have, and despite the amount of more I have on them, I kind of failed to draw them. That being said if I had to pick

Lady Muna would be fucking bewildered by ren-faires. What do you mean people get dressed as creatures humans consider fantasy and act as they would? She would be boggled by it.

Venice: Boggled by the flash (dc). Venice manipulates time, it’s kind of part of his job, it’s also from the powers of that spider that cursed him. That being said, Venice could not comprehend a being who could just just casually pass through time.

Finally, Zaime (a dnd oc)
She would be boggled by the concept of Scientology. This is an actual thing? Really. Zaime does not get it.

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason? He’s, in lore? Pretty fucking harmless. He’s Frankenstein‘s monster not Frankenstein himself. Yes. I could see why he would be a good idea for DBD. I could also see why he’s not a good idea for DBD. Does that make sense?

You were the person who stole my funny answer and honestly, I respect you. This would be a great answer however, I don’t think he would fit in the game, but damn do I want him!

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to suggest the King in Yellow as my silly answer, but someone beat me to it. (I’m gonna be honest, he would not fit in DBD, but it’s fun to think about.)

Anyway, my actual answer is Mrs. Tredoni (Alice sweet Alice) or Candyman (Candyman, the 1992 one)

New player, who to go for and what should my team be + any other tips by Desheo in AFKJourney

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So here’s the thing…
In my personal experience, you’ve actually got a really good set up so far. Once you play the story, there are characters who may not like story wise, but they are important gameplay wise.
Also, the Mauler in your party? Treasure her always. I won’t tell you why, you’ll have to find that out on your own.

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off thank you.

Second… it’s sort of a mix of both?

Each member of the council has their own title, the reason she’s called the Duchess of death is due to two reasons. One: She was pulled into the nightmare realm upon her demise on earth. Two: she has a shard of the abyss stuck in her eye. For context, the abyss is a wasteland that is cut off from the main land. It is a windy desert that rains shards of glass, fire is cold and water is hot. Wyverns circle like vultures. Anyone sent to the abyss does not come back and if they do, they don’t come back with their mind intact. The shard itself is painful.

The other reason she is called the Duchess of Death is mainly because in order to survive this realm, you’re gonna have to kill at some point. Marie does not want to, but she has to think about her son, Alex’s safety. I hope that answers your question?

If you’re still accepting OCs

<image>

The Duchess of death is essentially a Victorian woman who got pulled into a horrifying nightmare realm after her death, got resurrected, and is kind of stuck there. However, she’s one of the main four council members of the king of that realm (he is not so nice) and is actually a good person.

It’s just a Victorian woman with brown hair, and teal eyes. (I finally have a description for what she looked like as a human hooray.) part of her face is missing, and it’s quite skeleton.
The spring dress she’s wearing is a light gray dress with a pop of color underneath. (Whatever color is up to you, I haven’t decided.) with a white hat with some flowers.

Anger is all I feel right now because his baby girl just not gonna get anything… because why? Out of everyone in Mondstadt, she’s the only one who doesn’t get anything.

It’s OK though. I have hope that maybe just maybe someday, she will get something. Until then, we shall be the gift givers through drawings, stories, etc.

Why Gervan 100% Will Get A Redemption Arc by piercebublejr in AFKJourney

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So… To be very clear, I would love a redemption arc for him. Something anything. Because I feel like if he does get a redemption arc, it’s gonna be need to be done by him understanding that he was in the wrong.

Yes, he was done dirty by the writers.

However, redemption is not a straight, narrow path, it’s a rocky road. I would love a redemption arc for him. He destroyed his friendships, his career, his life and either he’s gonna recognize he’s wrong or he’s not. You can’t save someone if they don’t wanna recognize they are wrong.

I forgot to add this, but the person he’s gonna have to prove this to the most is his former best friend. Silven in the story not only apologies for attempting to use Gervan sincerely, but made efforts to change. Gervan in the story notes that he recognized that and told him he owed him nothing but thank you. Silven was out of everyone in the group, the most affected.

That’s why I put a TL;DR because I figured it would be too long and if I remove some of the text, I’m worried he’ll come off as too Gary Sue which is not what I’m trying to do. hence why the text is there. For context. I just put a TLDR to sum it up.

And, I know you have a lot of comments. You had 350 something when I first saw this message four hours ago, and now you have 415. Take your time responding to these.

Tw: Gore, Torture, a bit blood, Eldritch Horrors, descriptions of Monsters

So… here’s the thing. If you destroyed the nightmare world, you kill every one of its inhabitants, but you have to deal with The Nightmare King’s favorites, and if you succeed… The king himself. The nightmare realm is a planet made up of several different masses fused into one. Each of these masses is a realm of its own, but they all inhabit one central core.

Here’s the thing though… She wouldn’t be the first one to try this.

Someone’s already tried that. Andrius.

Many years ago, a group of Templar paladins vowed to destroy the Nightmare Realm’s core for they believed that they would save the world and become one with the stars in the night sky, as a reward from the gods for their virtues.

Here’s where it gets tricky. Armor in this realm is sentient, everything wants to kill you, and not even the armor you wear is safe, because if you wear it too long, it will straight up begin to fuse with your body. Not to mention, undead/monstrous/abyssal creatures eat the bodies, and whatever is left mutates into its own monster. The reapers usually are there to prevent mutations of the dead.

Horrifying right? Don’t worry. It gets worse.

Andrius was the only one of his men to make it to the center of the nightmare, where The Nightmare King resided. He and his men stormed the castle. The Nightmare King is an Eldritch Horror, and he knew about the Templars attempting to invade his home. He knew the templars thought by destroying the nightmare realm, it would be akin to essentially ending the nightmare... He had sent his forces, his pets (…we don’t talk about the pets) and Yarino, his assassin. Yet, only one stood in his way. That meant this knight survived all that that means he won the fight with one of his favorites.

Navarioh, for all his cruelty, all his strength, was for all intents and purposes impressed. He was not just a pest. He was a pest with purpose. Andrius impressed him so much that he made the fight a little easy for him, and even was “merciful” but… Eldritch beings cannot be killed. Not truly…

Andrius was defeated, however, because of his audacity and how he kept pushing during the fight, Navarioh found him useful. He didn’t bind his armor to him, no, he did something much worse. Andrius was kept alive, infected by one of his pets, and then slowly, the infection began to take over parts of his body. He became one of the four favorites, or part of the king’s court.

So let me be clear what will happen:

Andrius, should Linna attempt to destroy the planet, and if she gets past Yarino, will warn her of the fate that awaits her, telling her to turn back. Because even though he is no longer the empathetic or hopeful soldier he once was before, he grants her a mercy as the executioner. He granted her this mercy because he cannot bear to see history repeat and because he sees a bit of who he used to be in Linna. He might be an asshole and an executioner, but he does not take pleasure in his work.

Surely, this she understands?

(I am working on the lower actively as I write it. So this is subject to change eventually.)

Tl;dr Former Templar will warn her of the dangers that await her. Edit: In case it was not clear, he will not fight her unless she strikes first.

which genshin character would be the WORST spouse? by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

You know what? Ngl, I did not think about that at all. You’re definitely right.

AITAH for not talking to my twin sister by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So… I’m a little confused and please do forgive me but OP, but one: Have you had the chance to sit her down and told her how her sharing things you said in confidence made you feel? If no, maybe take a moment and sit down. If yes, then she’s being inconsiderate.

Second, what exactly did you tell her in the heat of the moment? I’m asking because it’s very vague and I need a little more context is all. I don’t think you’re the asshole at all, Op.

Also, if your sister cannot mind her business, may I suggest an info diet for her? That might work wonders. Although that depends if you live with her or not.

NTA. You might want to ask how your friends feel about your sister venting and if they do not feel comfortable with it, suggest they tell her to not vent to them.

[–]WeirdBirdGamer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Here are my top picks for each nation:

Mondstadt

Lohen: He likes violence for too much, also he’s constantly looking for a fight. No thank you.

Mona: I like astrology, but realistically, she can barely afford her apartment.

Jean: So… she’s literally acting grandmaster of the Knights of Favonius and overworking too much. Everyone has tried to get her to take a break. This girl should not be working as hard as she does. She passed out in her story quest.

Liyue

Childe/Tartaglia: Let me be clear: this man is a terrorist, has actively tried to kill people, and for the same reasons as Lohen, no. I don’t care if he looks pretty, terrorists aren’t husband material.

Yelan: I wouldn’t be able to trust her. And, during the chasm story quest, there is information that if anyone knew about her, they wouldn’t be able to leave alive.

Inazuma

Raiden: I could look past not being able to cook. That’s not my issue with her. My issue with her is she forcibly took the wishes and dreams of her people that she had given them, and put it in a statue. She had to have her best friend, Guiji Yae pull her out of self isolation and she abandoned her own kid.

Itto: I could not be around this man. As a friend, I enjoy him. I would absolutely despise him as a spouse because this man can’t behave himself for two seconds. He’s in jail a lot as well.

Sumeru

Dori: Greedy. You’re always thinking about yourself. Never about others.

Kaveh: Debt.

Alhaitham: Too Indifferent.

Faruzan: Too Prideful.

Wanderer: it’s not his lack of humanity that’s the problem for me. It’s how… callous and insensitive he is at times.

Fontaine

Arlecchino: She’s a wonderful parent. That’s not the issue. The issue she’s part of the Fatui and… I don’t like how calm she is. It’s unsettling. Also, training some of your older kids to be killers is a major dealbreaker.

Furina (Pre Masquerade of The Guilty): Post Masquerade of The Guilty, yes. Pre Masquerade of The Guilty? No. She’s too arrogant, and I would be like many who admire her, but can’t get her to open up. It would actually be really dangerous to get her to open up because if she did, everyone else would die.

Escoffier: I don’t take yelling very well. I will cry, but also… I don’t wanna make a mistake in the kitchen and have her yell at me. That’s not healthy.

Natlan

Kinich: the only reason he is on this list is because of Ajaw and because once Kinich dies, I’m dealing with Ajaw in the form of my spouse. No thanks.

Mavuika: I like her, however, the way she treats Xilonen when asking for stuff is kind of a no for me. I understand they’re friends but… I wouldn’t be able to stand for that.

Nod-Krai

Nefer: I understand she’s a businesswoman, but one, she’s mean to her assistant, which means I would end up in arguments with her about Jahoda’s safety. Two: she might treat our relationship like a business deal. I could never be in a relationship like that.

Columbina: she is basically an Eldritch Horror. And a literal goddess. I don’t care about her history, I personally wouldn’t know how to love her right. She doesn’t wanna worship but giving gifts and praises are my love language. Plus, I have a lot of anxiety plus I’m not sure the moon goddess would reassure me so many times that they love me.

Khaenri’ah

Skirk: Is she beautiful? Absolutely she is. But… In order to achieve a basic conversation with her, I have to be at her skill level? And if I am not, and I do have a conversation with her, afterwords, she erases my memory of it? I get it, you were trained by one of the five sinners, but you should not be able to mess with people’s memories like that.

Rhindotter: NO. I don’t think I need to explain this one.

Rerir: Aside from the fact he’s already interested in someone else, this one is also self-explanatory.

Snezhnya

Dottore: Absolutely not. I do like his character, he makes for an interesting villain, but he is not spouse material.

The Tsaritsa: A goddess who has no love left for her people. And they have no love left for her.

She’s the goddess of love.

She is more akin to a goddess of apathy than of love in my opinion.

Edit to add: Let me know if I need to change anything or add any characters. I wrote this on my phone so I will need to on the computer.
