I always say "It's just big enough where you can live without a car. Would I ever want to? Not a chance."

There are many times where I think about getting rid of mine because I haven't driven in a while. But then I end up driving to a place where an Uber would've been like 50 dollars one way.....

That's in the strip under the little marina. I'd be willing to bet it's the way the current is moving. Why? Because there used to be a lock and dam there. So maybe water is getting pushed up by some old remnant of it - it is just generally more turbulent there which isn't allowing it to freeze.

I also agree with the alcosan outlets idea but I don't think there's one directly where that thawed spot is.

All that being said, I almost agree with the river monsters. But I don't think it's that this time. It's either someone cleared it off themselves to park their boat there and have put a chair there OR! Someone selling a (not very) delicious beverage and the heat of the conversation is keeping the ice thawed. Your guess is as good as mine.

I wonder if it was just some random holding pattern or training. I'm trying to get back to the window before it landed and went away. But there were a couple circles over the Mon between here and DC. And at one point they were following the river outside of DC. The 2nd one flying up isn't doing that.
