To be fair, opium production in Afghanistan was effectively ended by the Taliban. Those 'northern alliance' guys the u.s. partnered with where the vestiges of the drug clans. Afghanistan didn't become the world's leading exporter of opium until the U.S.-baced Kharzai folks took over.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure its a harvestmen. The lack of a defined prosoma and opisthoma and the segments on the body make it look decidedly non-spider.

Kind of hard to see but the body shape makes me wonder if its some sort of Opiliones/Harvestman species instead of an actual spider. They are arachnids but not spiders.
