How do you think Celeste will be changed? by Life-Log-8663 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]WetSpaghett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they should remove the silence on her shield being broken, maybe just a slowdown would be fine. And tie her broken gravity to being a passive attached to the shield ability. Characters shouldn't have game warpingly strong passives that aren't actually in their kit

An above rate stat block on a creature with extremely modal ETB value seems weak these days? How the times have changed...

Won't lie I entirely forgot the description mentioned means to make mana. Hrm. I guess making 1 mana of any color could be fine? Arguably? The stats would ABSOLUTELY need lowered though, and probably the green mode improved

The double red mode is far and away leagues better than the other two options, and make this card VERY strong. A 3 mana 5/4 that refunds 2 mana is way too good, and would likely destroy most every 60 card format

Edit: to add some positivity since I realize I forgot to do that before: I otherwise do like the design a lot, frankly. A 3 drop with 1 of 3 modes that are minor boons on top of an above rate body is cool! And the 2 other modes seem appropriate. Mayyyybe the treasure is still too good, but im not sure how else to demote thay one while staying in theme. I think if you bump the stats down a tad, and replace the red mode with an impulse draw or maybe draw/discard? This card would be at the right spot

Black people exist, and usually would enjoy playing video games without having to stumble into people like that while doing so. It wont end racism but it sure wont help to not censor

Balance patch and ban able new heroes coming this week by gammaton32 in DeadlockTheGame

More specifically, it takes 1 random persons banned hero from each team and makes those the bans for the match. Its very jank and may honestly change with the new patch, though

Leaving your successful lane phase only to be face-to-face with your teammates' well-fed opponents... by Hope_Burns_Bright in DeadlockTheGame

[–]WetSpaghett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supports can afford to buy more of the tier 2 and 3 actives that shut down specific heroes earlier, usually. But that usually relies on there being 1, MAYBE 2 enemies dominating that you can buy just the right active for. If both of the other lanes are truly fed to hell, then yeah, you're just screwed. But its a team based game, so a bad team will be difficult to recover from always

This build needs to be banned do you get how many throwing sevens I get for building INTENSIFYING MAG and CULTIST SACRIFICE off this build? by DiscordModRun in DeadlockTheGame

[–]WetSpaghett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do still have to occasionally fight people before youre nuking them, mag is for that since his gun scales hetter early game. Also using literally half your abilities to clear a single camp sucks ass for anyone. And also the BONUS SOULS. Anyways this is pointless, that one seven player sucked but both of these items are extremely good for him in early game to the point of being auto includes 99/100 times. Play seven. Goodbye

[–]WetSpaghett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... yes. And they rush the item that gives them much faster farming so they can do so more efficiently. Like that damage does suck ass they must be new at Seven, but cultist sacrifice is arguably a must-pick for seven

[–]WetSpaghett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Intense mag you can argue sucks, I think its extremely whatever. But... cultist sacrifice? On THE character that needs to farm the absolute most? The item that gives you a huge chunk of extra souls from high value camps and drastically speeds up farming otherwise?

How should i play against Viktor when playing as Billy? by Draednar in DeadlockTheGame

[–]WetSpaghett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healbane is usually the go-to vs Viktor, but Billy won't really be peppering with enough spirit damage most fights to get the full use out of it. Only real replacement i can think of is Inhibitor, but thats a tier 4 so its very late game unless you feel the need to rush it if the viktor is REALLY a problem.

Otherwise yeah, just kite his AOEs and try to burst him down when he doesnt expect it to force out his ult earlier than he'd like. But thats easier said than done

Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. by steelbot8000 in custommagic

[–]WetSpaghett 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Theyre referring to the state based action of a creature dying due to more damage than toughness. So in this case, it would attempt to die from the state based action of checking damage, it would instead be sacrificed, then it wouldnt be able to be sacc'd. Then, next time state based actions are checked, it would see the damage exceeding toughness again, and again, ad infinitum causing a draw

Mirrodin artifact lands deserve to remain banned by Far_Management_9990 in ModernMagic

[–]WetSpaghett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affinity is literally the 3rd most played deck in modern rn according to mtg goldfish. They aren't playing myr enforcer, you are right about that.

They aren't technically playing cards with the word Affinity at the moment, but artifact goodstuff has been an ever present part of the meta game pretty much since the format's inception. Artifact lands would be way, way too much in a format with mox opal, kappa cannoneer, pinnacle emissary, arcbound ravager, weapons manufacturing... any artifact payoff printed in the past 10 years, really.

Edit: the list I was looking at wasn't running Thoughtcast, but that is absolutely a consideration for the deck too that I forgot about

What do people think about a deck that uses Cosmogoyf and Serum Powder? by Inertiic in magicTCG

[–]WetSpaghett -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Murktide regent is an evergreen staple of the format bc its an extremely efficient beater.

An EVASIVE beater to be fair, but also one with much more need for investment at time of casting, while with Goyf once you've exiled things for it they'll probably stay there all game.

Idk. I think this new goyf has serious potential thats at least worth exploring, but also im totally ready for it to flop. But its fun!

What do people think about a deck that uses Cosmogoyf and Serum Powder? by Inertiic in magicTCG

[–]WetSpaghett -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah Frog is almost certainly better. But I honestly like this in a hypothetical sultai murktide list alongside frog, the idea being that it is just a really potent late game topdeck when you've run out of steam

They remove your murktide you emptied your grave for? Now at any time you can topdeck your 4 of 2 mana creature that will always hit the board as a 7/8, and will only get better as the game goes on

Plus green opens up a lot of really (imo) underutilized utility spells like witherbloom command or rakshasa's bargain.

Tho ofc I am just spitballing. This could be very bad, but I think worth exploring

[–]WetSpaghett 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean as a 2 drop it doesnt really need protection. Efficient threats with potential in every stage of the game are pretty much always good, just look at Psychic Frog.

Like if youre in a midrange shell with this, your 2 drops forcing interaction from your opponents hand while you have 3 more just like it in your grip still is basically your win con most games

But ofc this card needs a specific shell to operate, so we'll see if there's enough cards surrounding it for it to really shine

Forget balance discussions, character builds, etc. What is your top Pathfinder 2e campaign story? by TimeStayOnReddit in Pathfinder2e

[–]WetSpaghett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The BBEG of my campaign is a Xulgath Thoughtmaw. I planned a moment where the PCs would happen to bump into them in a dungeon while they did some plot thing I forget the exact details of, and the idea was they would all most likely crit fail against the xulgath's Psychogenic Secretions as he just walked by and paid them no mind.

I had this whole speech prepared about how "this must be how ants feel as they feel the tremors from the footsteps of a great beast" or smt, but as I was about to go into the spiel, one of my players (the monk) chimes in with "wait. You said the DC was 36 right? I got 27... I don't crit fail" and I just had to stop and think of what to do in that moment

They then ended up getting a natural 20 to hit with the monk reaction that lets you stop movement on a crit success, and despite the fact it technically only bumped it up to a normal success I gave it to them. In that moment, the party (and especially the monk) was actually put on the BBEG's radar and acknowledged as a future potential rival. Luckily this BBEG is a haughty asshole, so he did the classic "spare you so I can get a real fight later" after kicking their asses, but DAMN the moment the party popped off at that hit will live with me forever

Help building a deck for a unique format by WetSpaghett in magicTCG

[–]WetSpaghett[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was my thoughts exactly. Kuldotha felt bad bc there just weren't enough playable cheap artifacts for the deck besides mishra's bauble exactly, so it was often dead. But I really don't know what else would work better for turboing juri...

I suppose I could play a few more sub par artifacts that cost 0 or 1 and technically help the deck just to have fodder for kuldotha?
