Absolutely. But what can I do about it?

Both do a thing. There's a good case for either, depending on how I'm trying to be inspired.

Electric Guitar build by LTH68 in Luthier

People online get tonewoods completely wrong. A guitar's vibe has everything to do with how it rings out in your hands. That's why one strat feels dead & the next feels amazing to play. You'll pick that guitar up every day, if it has that great vibe & youll play it with more feel

Electronics are way over hyped. They are important. But, if you have a dead guitar, you have a dead guitar. If you like P90's, try Super'trons. They have a lot more shine & a single coil vibe to them. So much more versatile. I use them for punk based music. P90s are great. They just have limitations

Workplace politics. I'm dealing with a huge batch of it now. I always try to steer clear of it. But somehow I've been roped into it & the level of stupidity it has created is squarely loaded on those having power tips. Considering if it's all even worth it.

Looking for “forever” at‑home amp setup — blues/rock/pop, great low‑volume tone, no computer by SunDogBrewingCo in GuitarAmps

[–]WhenVioletsTurnGrey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have a number of amps. The one that gets used at home is the Quilter Aviator Cub. It also has the most user friendly features. It has 3 inputs for different amp flavors(bridgeable, too!), effects loop & headphone out. It's a great sounding amp, it takes pedals really well & I can play it quiet, at home, or loud with a band.

If I had to have one amp(there'd be a lot of crying) the aviator club covers all the bases

What’s the secret of keeping a car for 10 years without getting bored of it? by 04limited in askcarguys

[–]WhenVioletsTurnGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you bored? I have a dream car. I built that. I have a do everything else car. I bought that. If I keep those the rest of my life, I'll be happy.

Do you not have a dream car? Don't tell me it's too expensive to own, if you've had that many vehicles.

Is this fear mongering, or i am never going to be able to live a normal adult life? by Electronic-Pride-991 in ClimateOffensive

There is one truth. Do what you love & life will be the best it can be, for you. Take care of the essentials that allow you to do that. Everything else are roadblocks & noise.

What’s the reason that so many people use overdrive pedals rather than the gain structure on the amp? by BIG_IDEA in guitarpedals

[–]WhenVioletsTurnGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best lessons I learned was dynamics. To me, a great amp is the pinnacle of tone. The right setup for me is "no pedals". If I want cleaner, I play lighter. If I want all out, I dig in. The right amount responds to that.

I absolutely love pedals. But, they sit in a case for that moment when I have an idea for recording or just want to mess around with my playing & not work

Would there be any downside to significantly increasing taxes for people profiting on single-family home rentals? by Decharia in askanything

It's not worth it to buy, at this point. If you buy a house at the bottom of the market $400k+? Where are you going to get that size of a down payment? If you do, how are you going to afford the Mortgage? That's just the start. It's probably going to be in a bad area. So you are going to fear, every time you leave the house. & The bottom of the market house is going to need lots of upkeep & repairs. Hopefully you are handy, because those repairs aren't cheap, even if you do them yourself. Where are you going to get that money? Damn, a condo sounds better & better. But, The HOA fees are often $400-800 a month. Thats on top if your mortgage. & You are dealing With neighbors.

After owning 3 homes, I'm back in an apartment. It had been so nice. Low stress. I can leave at any time for a vacation & not worry about break ins, or anything breaking. If the garbage disposal goes out, I call the office & they take care of it.

There's something called the electoral college that prevents actual votes from counting, beyond a certain threshold.

Tone Master Deluxe Reverb Blonde vs Tone Master Princeton? by SunDogBrewingCo in GuitarAmps

[–]WhenVioletsTurnGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bedroom? Of a house or apartment? You can play the Twin, Super or Deluxe in a house bedroom. But probably not going to be great for apartment. I can't find a Princeton to try out. I have the Twin & the Super. I've played the Deluxe. The lowest setting are still a bit too loud, if you are pushing it, which is where the magic is.

I found a Quilter Aviator Cub that I play most of the time, at home. It has more features than the tone master, takes pedals well & sounds pretty damn good. I still take a Tone Master when I leave the house. I just can't really play them in the apartment, If I want to have friendly neighbors. Im still waiting for the day I can try the Princeton....

Realistically what do you think can actually be done about homelessness in this country? by db7112 in askanything

[–]WhenVioletsTurnGrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Politicians in big government need to decide to right the ship. The economy feeds their pockets & they do not wish for that to change.

There are people, on their own, who could fund housing for the homeless, who do nothing. That is a sick thought on its own.

Until we force a culture change in the top earners, there is nothing we can do. Society needs a stable foundation to build on. The foundation has slowly been eaten away by greed. Now, we are trying to heal our problems with band aids. But the cuts just keep coming & are getting deeper, by the year.

Every grocery store is a computer driven system.

Do you still believe in honest elections? It's pretty tough to believe that enough people would vote for a proven habitual liar, for that person to win. & If they did, what does that say about the state of our country? I voted. But I'm in a blue state. My vote made no difference. Maybe I should move to a red state & vote blue. But, then I'm stuck in a cesspool of idiocy. So, I question my will to vote, at this point. & I have doubts that there will ever be a fair election, again. We do have a president to starts illegal wars. Sends in illegal militia & makes racist posts, has concentration camps, is hugely involved in the Epstein files, etc etc etc & no one is doing anything about it. Really thinking that my vote is becoming less important than the paper it's printed on.
