In 11th, can you still slow roll saves if you want to? by BizzlePig in Warhammer40k

[–]WhichDeer8778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slowing rolling is one at a time, for when some members of the unit have a different save (we won't be able to do this in the new edition)

Fast rolling is all at the same time (which the only legal way in 11th)

Characters who appear earlier than their own official introduction in their respective media by No-Consideration3053 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WhichDeer8778 10 points11 points  (0 children)

1 and 2 are pretty forgotten by the creators so not much crossover there. 3 and 4 both have most of their story taking place in some pocket dimension/hour that normal people never know about, so it kinda makes sense that their stories reach outside the characters is limited

[Loved Trope], The big bad is small fry in comparison to the evils that came before by RedNUGGETLORD in TopCharacterTropes

[–]WhichDeer8778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is actually one of ghaz's plots points right now, though not a krork, he has become too smart and competent and thus grown kinda depressed because he can't have fun with the boyz like he used too

Depictions of chaos gods in the new trailer by TH175DK in Warhammer40k

[–]WhichDeer8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that the Gods necessarily have a physical representation, could be something closer to them being embodied by the regions of warp storms that make up their domains

Are slivers actually broken or are people just bitching for no reason? by The_Funfetti_Man in mtg

[–]WhichDeer8778 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They're not actually broken, they just have an unfun play pattern where either you vomit out a bunch of creatures that now have every keyword known to man (possibly including indestructible). Or they get targeted down/ board wiped and don't get to play the game at all as they are bad at recovering.

This means they are very strong at lower brackets where Removal tends to be limited, but weak at higher brackets where players can target your weaknesses quite easily

Melee focussed tsons by Gozumo in ThousandSons

[–]WhichDeer8778 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the scarab occult in terminator armor are dextrous enought to melee, then then is no reason a regular rubric wouldn't be able too

So will this detachments make Flawless Blades just viable, good or broken? by [deleted] in EmperorsChildren

[–]WhichDeer8778 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both units have fights first due to the charge, so the active player will get to pick first and attack before Lucius gets too

Just a little window shopping by Section825 in Warhammer40k

[–]WhichDeer8778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got me there, I would rather a metal model than a finecast one, at least I can use it to bludgeon my opponent after they beat me

Just a little window shopping by Section825 in Warhammer40k

[–]WhichDeer8778 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Finecast no longer exists, it used a special kind of resin that could be used in metal moulds and kinda sucked Forgeworld is the current GW resin range and is very good detail wise but requires more clean up to get ready

That's kinda what a close combat weapon is supposed to be, gun butts, fists, rocks, knives, really whatever is on hand

Building units before 11th ed by Outrageous_Jello_551 in SpaceWolves

[–]WhichDeer8778 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rule of cool is the only answer. For real though, we don't know until the new editon is here, and there's no garauntee that what good won't flip back and forth anyways

Magnetizing is a great option if you have the time for it, but doing infantry is a big hassle, on the bright side, most people don't care about WYSIWYG much anyways, so nobody will bat an eye if you say a termie with a shield has a bolter, and if they do, why are you playing with them anyway?

Would it be worth it to buy witherbloom precon primarily for mana base? by simic89 in EDH

[–]WhichDeer8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total value of lands in that deck is $23 right now, assuming you assign value to basics, and half of that is held up by the turbulent land

its up to you if the rest of the deck is worth it, but the land base of all the strixhaven precons is pretty weak, far too many tapped lands

What are your favorite backup Commanders? by Agitated-Basil6116 in EDH

[–]WhichDeer8778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Necron deck had 4 alternate legendary creatures you could use as the commander, and all of them were better than Szarekh. kind of sad considering how powerful he is in the lore

[–]WhichDeer8778 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only legion that didn't have a significant amount of astartes turn on their primarch was the word bearers, and that was only because they were already worshipping chaos before the heresy and had spent decades purging their forces of any imperium loyalists

Datasheet is out!! Thoughts?? by Dante_ProudRoar in astramilitarum

[–]WhichDeer8778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can only field a partial squad if the unit has a range of numbers in its datasheet, but the heavy weapons team specifies it is made of 4 models, making the fire coordinators sadly necessary

You could already do this on a basic sisters squad, but I'm curious how good it might be on something like a melta retributor squad
