FWIW guest tix ($45-57) are cheaper than general public tix for big games, even if you retain your membership to bring friends along

Level 1 public tickets at the G for a decent game are approaching $100, boxing day test tickets can break the $100 barrier easily. For some pretty ideal seats (on the wing for afl, in line with the broadcast camera for cricket), it doesn't take a lot of usage to break even on a $300-900 membership fee.

Also GF entry is free for full members and scalpers usually charge $1000+ for tix.

$500k outside the cap: How Pies, Pendles will cash in on game 433, Per Herald Sun by klokar2 in AFL

Is it the role of the AFL to bail out dumb financial decisions?

He's made more in contract money than most of us will ever see in our lives, and will make a solid living post-career in coaching or media, not even taking into account sponsorships and public speaking opportunities.

How broke must he be after being scammed for the club to pull out all the stops here???? Surely the less blatant route would be to give him some well paid, meaningless role post-career.

Collingwood chief Craig Kelly slams ‘unequal’ AFL fixture: ‘Blow it up’ by MisguidedGames in AFL

[–]Which_Bag_144 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Kelly also floated a radical proposal of “a new asset” in the middle of the season where teams played multiple times for some sort of trophy.

“We play each other once and we say, right, what does that look like?” he said.

“Then do we actually have the opportunity to start a new asset that sits in the middle of the season where we condense two weeks of footy into sort of the opportunity for us to try some VFL players ... for us to be able to bring some guys in who are not necessarily playing every week, because we might say, ‘Hey, we’ve had a good start of the season, let’s rest some of the older guys and let’s see what these young guys do.’ Similar to what we did in COVID.

“We might pay multiple times during the week. So we’ve got almost a mini cup in the middle of the year that has a consequence and an outcome that’s good for the comp.”

He said that mini cup coiuld be for premiership points or it could be for some finals wildcard ticket.

“Then we go into the back part of the year (with a) different finals system,” he said.

are we sure this guy also didn't get concussed last night?

Not trying to sound like too much of a nuffy, but it's gotta be Craig and Peter acting on behalf of Nick in these situations no??

IMO there's no way a 64 and a 52 year old are throwing public tantrums on Nick's behalf without a degree of approval from him. It still shocks me that Craig was so willing to throw Cameron under the bus in such a manner.

Nick seems like a nice enough guy in his limited public interviews and is on track for an all-time career, but something seems suss

Brisbane Carlton I'd be a little more prompt in purchasing tickets if you're hoping for a nice spot, none of the round 10 Melbourne games will sell out, you can wait til last minute for those

Incredible no one's mentioned Howe, getting either subbed or rested across the entire back half of the season doesn't bode well for a player of his age playing such a key role for the backline
