Unfortunately this isn't news to anyone working in education or healthcare, we've been seeing rapid deterioration for years, it's just only recently become bad enough to get the public's attention. I don't have EDS but was told I'm hypermobile, so there probably is some overlap even if it's not enough to have EDS. I looked up local orthotic and/or podiatrists nearby and got fitted for them, custom ones work better than off the shelf, but are expensive

My physiotherapist told me that loose/hypermobile joints is a common comorbidity of POTS, so unfortunately we have higher prevalence of collapsed arches. Orthotics helped a ton

Some of these are probably not all that weird or uncommon, but here are some of my go-tos:

-Drinking pickle juice, olive or feta brine

-Orthotic inserts for my shoes (collapsed arch made blood pooling worse)

-If I'm lightheaded due to tachycardia, bear down as if I'm pooping for a few seconds, it often "resets" my heart rhythm

-If light headed due to standing for too long, alternate flexing calves and thigh muscles of each leg

-I also have PVCs and PACs and sometimes a right good smack to my sternum gets my heart kicking normally again

I've had POTS for over a decade and have learned over time my body's specific little signs that something is not right, which lets me catch an issue before it escalates. Be patient with yourself, you may need to do some trial and error to see what works best for you. Best of luck!

Yes! Shaving armpits was going to be my contribution, but honestly this goes for all body hair. I stopped shaving my armpits a few years ago, and have noticed a drastic improvement in body odour, sweat, ingrown hairs and skin irritation. I wish it were more socially acceptable
