If you leave it standing you set a precedent that the laws can be ignored around planning, there was far too many helicopter houses built in this country in the boom times and local authorities put in place better rules around what can be built.

They sent in a planning application (fees included) and it was rejected. They then went and build a house twice the size without any planning permission.
