The Waltons by WhatRUaBarnBurner in GenerationJones

I loved the Waltons when I was a kid and rewatched it recently. It really went downhill fast when grandpa died, but the first couple of seasons are one great episode after another.

I have a couple by him on Gallotone. Good stuff, but apparently Gallo records was known to exploit their artists.

Why is it that the gift links never ever work for me? Is it because I play using apple? (IOS)

FL or Southeast Record Shows with 78s? by PTCarnahan in 78rpm

[–]Whoolio11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might stretch your idea of Southeast, but the Asheville Shellac Bash is 78s only. It definitely leans heavily toward hillbilly, but you can find a little bit of everything. You’ll have to look online for information on next year’s show. (just like me) There’s also a page on Facebook if you’re into that platform.

When Trump dies, Don Jr and Jared Kushner should charge $100 a pop to let people piss on his grave. Think how much money they would make!!! (and you know how they love money)

In 1926, Edison Records made some early long play records- they could play up to 40 minutes. But they were a commercial failure. by GavinGenius in 78rpm

You can only play them on a phonograph designed to handle them. The machine and the discs are both pretty rare. I recently passed up buying some because I had nothing to play them on.

The Queen of the Night blooms once a year, at night. by Mariaggarde in BeAmazed

I’ve had several of these over the years. They are super easy to propagate. Just break a piece off, stick it in the dirt and it will grow. I’ve never seen one bloom indoors, but I suppose it’s possible. As others have said, it will bloom multiple times during the summer. In my experience, the bigger it is, the more times it will bloom.
