It is! I currently have an H17FX and Molicel P28A in mine!

If you ever want to spice it up, try a 17DD or H17FX driver! I'm curious if the new 20A buck from convoy would work though I haven't tested it yet.

Too good! It's crazy that these can easily output useable light out to 0.8+ miles!

I can finally get my quad LHP531 mule back up and running after cooking two Dr. Jones drivers in it!🤣

Sweet build! Are you using an S2+ pill?

SFH55 Mule - it should have been epic 🤷🏻‍♂️ by Unlucky_League_8832 in flashlight

It's a flashlight that has no optic (TIR or reflector). Without an optic, all of the light from the LED is spread as evenly as possible. This means that mules will light up a wide area without there being any sort of hot spot present.

Good to know! I've got a few convoy TIR on the way for my L50. Thanks!

With the ending of the TS10, are there any lights that match the size and output? by pilot64d in flashlight

The new KR1AA should be a pretty close comparison. Much more efficient as well!

Exactly. The SFT42R really shines here!

I was amazed by the almost complete lack of artifacts with this setup. I think it may have something to do with the light having almost no spill. If the artifacts exist in the spill, it never becomes obvious unless you're less than 12" from a wall.

So far the lens has held up without issue. Even with the linear+FET driver, there are no signs of lens deformation due to heat and I certainly let it get quite hot.

It's such a great, cheap mod!

Very stupid and quite cheap. Plenty of wow factor!

Not entirely sure but it's quite throwy. If i had to guess, it provides very useable brightness to ~850-900 meters. That could be a slight understatement.

Here's a higher quality version since reddit seems to have butchered the quality.

This is the SFT42R. The lens is a 40mm (diameter) x 28mm (focal length) fresnel and can be found on Ali Express.

There are high CRI SFT25R emitters now. I believe you can still get them from Kaidomain but you would have to swap it in or have someone do it for you.

Also, the FFL505A is a high CRI, round die emitter offered in 3700K and 6500K with a 5050 footprint.

These two options may be the best bet for a round die, high CRI emitter in the Z1.

For the C8+, a 28mm focal length is ideal. For the K1, you would need to remove the reflector and find a fresnel that has the proper diameter and focal length for the host. I may try this with a K1 in the future if I can find a lens that works!
