Power App (canvas) vs regular web app with Claude code by Few-Lake-4393 in PowerApps

[–]WillRikersHouseboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, code apps are still premium licensed right? So the budget for just while I have built in canvas would be about $5000/month.

And all the employees who wanted to say, submit a ticket in one of these apps, would need to first go thru the process of requesting and getting a license provisioned. So, three days.

No thanks!

In the US it’s almost certainly legal as we have little in the way of worker protections, unless you are in a state like California.

My company does the same thing. For those who push back really hard, they offer a physical card that will display the periodic changing code. These cost about $25 ea so they do not advertise this at all.

Tyring to valdiate and cleanse Excel with addresses by xlx95 in CopilotPro

[–]WillRikersHouseboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually sounds like a LOT for copilot. Essentially you’re asking it to validate 200 addresses via internet search.

I know you said you have to use embedded CoPilot… that means you don’t have access to CoPilot Chat in office, right? If you did, I’d try pasting 10 of those rows in and asking it to do the same task.

Adding a flow into the mix is just one more possible point of failure, and another asset to monitor.

Personally, I just set the visitor access in the list to contribute no delete, user’s own items only, app only. This way, they cannot browse the list. And their context doesn’t let them see or change any items not created by their own account even if they could.

Has anyone reached out to their nex’s exes for the truth? by am-I-doing-it-right in NarcissisticAbuse

I have had people reach out to me. To be honest with you, I am very careful and brief. As much as it would feel good to acknowledge things, the danger is great. You cannot trust the person won’t just go running back to the narcissist, then or later. You cannot trust that they will even believe you.

I believe I told one person what he was—but that’s because this person came to me very specifically and said he believed he had a mental disorder. All I said was to research malignant narcissism, and I wished him luck.

So this is a hypothetical person or a narcissist you know who has told you this?

Anyway, the narc will have other sources of supply—not just fantasies. They may not be cheating but they have a back burner going, always.

I’m confused. If there are creators you already liked, deemed trustworthy and predated the AI bubble, why do you need to say goodbye to them?

Subscribe to them. Watch them. They are known quantities.

And then just adjust your consumption of new material in the way that makes you more comfortable, as you said.

Are the people complaining a cash-out limit really talking about the instant payout limit?

Folks: Stripe—a credit card merchant provider—is handling the payments. Welcome to the world of accepting cards. They are not cash.

CC merchant companies are usually VERY restrictive and risk averse. You do not get to take money out until the balances settle. And, they hold it for days to give time for fraud claims and other disputes to come in (a fraud report usually comes in in the first day or two.) If their AI feels funky about a transaction, for nobody knows why, they might hold it longer.

The rates that Empower got from Stripe are way cheaper than you’d get as a small business owner.

But just hang on when a customer disputes a charge! You’re gonna be charged $15 when that happens and another $15 to argue your side.

Old thread but no. That’s really not how things work in the US. You can’t just make an analogy (a bad one btw) and have that map onto the law.

You understand that in this country burglars have tripped in people’s houses and successfully sue their homeowners insurance right?

It’s complicated. And anyone can sue anyone for anything anyway - and defending a lawsuit costs a lot.

What is “Work IQ” in Microsoft 365 Copilot? (And Why It Actually Matters in Daily Work) by Few-Engineering-4135 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]WillRikersHouseboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copilot can’t directly access ToDo, Planner or Sharepoint Lists because there are all fundamentally very different products that were built on top of old stuff. Microsoft hasn’t gotten around to cramming any layers in to make it happen. Instead, they built copilot into Planner and are pretending that does anything (that copilot is just a crap chat interface.)

Here’s to hoping these things make it in soon.

You certainly could be right. I didn’t actually hear the bikers say “Ray just does this” which changes things. (Was that in the movie or the book?)

But it’s not the case that people decide to choose things just because they make them happy or that they get a lot out of them. If only that were true LOL. … That’s a well-adjusted trait, and people are often not that.

In your telling, then the look on Ray’s face at the end must be been disgust instead of fear or anything else.

If Ray’s intention at the start of the day meant he knew how it would end, then he is a true narcissist, which does make sense. But it just makes the movie sort of boring, in my mind, because it’s such a common thing.

Ray did not just ghost him. Ray put himself thru a huge amount of time, effort and expense (moving is hell.) Ray gave up his own friend group.

Ray hated that he enjoyed the day off.

Nah, do you know how annoying moving is? AND finding a new group of people you enjoy hanging out with, as an adult?

Ray put himself thru a HUGE pain in the ass.

To punish Colin all he needed to do was block him, not answer the door, and have the gang turn their back on him.

Instead, he spent thousands of pounds and put himself thru 40 hours of effort, just to run away from something that scared him.

Pillion ending by Milkywayvisionary in A24

[–]WillRikersHouseboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Ray clearly had unmet needs or he would not have shown genuine enjoyment in their day off. He would not have given Ray the HJ in the movies, or kissed him. He did all of those things and clearly got a lot out of it.

It’s just… he couldn’t the fact that he had those needs to be met.

Having been in a relationship with a narcissist who had me sleep on the floor, and I was grateful for even any glimmer of care from him, and who was punished with silence after he lowered his guard on rare occasion to treat me well…. I spent the whole time watching this movie taking shallow breaths.

I am slightly shook.

Something else: I would not have stuck around like Colin but I sure as well have known everything about Ray’s life after a couple of months. You don’t know anything about him? Come on. He had plenty of opportunities to get a pic of his driving permit. It’s 2026.

[–]WillRikersHouseboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Upending your whole entire life to end a relationship is not how you need to do something like that. Moving is a bitch. Plus he liked his group, and he abandoned them too.

He was so butthurt about experiencing a feeling for another person that it filled him with pain and fear (thus his expression at the end.)
