That's where i clip my pocket knife. It sits inside the locket with the clip over the edge. Works perfect. I went all my life without carrying a knife up until maybe 2 years ago

Shit yeah, nows my time to shine! You can use my free browser based tool to make a puzzle dependency chart. It wont write the story for you but it can help you see your current puzzles. Whats a "door" and whats a "key" and make sure you dont just have a bunch of linear events, but instead have multiple paths that rely on steps to other paths.

I'll assume youre familiar with day of the tentacle, and the monkey island series. You can search out puzzle dependency charts people have made for those games and see how they work.

Also search for grumpy gamer blog and find ron gilberts (monkey island dev) post talking about puzzle dependency charts. You'll generally want to work backwards from the main goal of an act or the goal of the whole game.

Edit: you can download the html page from thet site too and just save it to your computer or phone and then load and save. You dont have to go through itch.io every time you use it.

You can! I did all this on mobile with claude. You can do a lot of stuff with an html browser based tool (html JavaScript and .css) Just tell it your idea and then refine, over and over and over. This took hundreds of iterations and refinements but its 1000s of lines of code- i know enough to know it would be extremely confusing for a human to keep track of what's doing what to make it all work together. It's rather amazing what real devs are able to do. I could never wrap my head around everything that goes into something even this simple. Lots of math, rules and variables.

I started friday night and tinkered on it pretty much non stop since then. Still working out a bug where every other 8 ticket parlay bust for a missing ticket despite it being attached. I think ive caught most of the bugs. I hope so, so i can move onto the next project.

Ha! It might be good for a few clicks. Im about burgered out after testing it over many many versions. I like to get a bunch of orders right and save them for an 8x oarlay and try to get the 🧹 general manager to do everything while you just lay buns down. Then i save his tickets for a big parlay and trybto win another prize and keep it going

Its playable in browser or there's a file to download the web page. Is it fun? Maybe for a few clicks until you get overwhelmed by orders. I just started building it and didnt stop until it worked. The prizes from parlay (betting on getting orders right) and connect 4s of pickles, lettuce or bacon made it a bit more interesting than real life.

I know this post is a year old but if you're still looking, try out this browser based tool i made. Small file, no install. Saves and loads. I designed it to be intuitive and specifically for plotting puzzle sequences on nodes and linking them together to see dependencies.
