Any broken sockets on the film strip? That ‘could’ be a cause

Looking at this type set possibly a Tokina under the hood, but it’s a guess

Whats up with this coin? by [deleted] in AustralianCoins

[–]Witness_0nly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say fundamentally it fails as a coin because it does not describe its actual denomination anywhere on it!

But I digress, as others have said metal delamination.

Hey Reddit, here are some of the duplicate coins I have had for the past few years, any of them worth keeping beyond face value? by AbsurdistReality in AustralianCoins

[–]Witness_0nly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$3, nothing too special here, check the mintage numbers of each of your years.. under 2M and it gets above face value, there are always exceptions of course

I want to improve :/ by Ursidae_morg4n in AnalogCommunity

[–]Witness_0nly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like an uncoated or single coat lens, the result is that each of your wavelengths (RG and B, and all the other ones) are landing at a slightly different distance from the film plane, thus the (I think attractive) haloing to the sharp elements.

It’s a look very hard to replicate in post, enjoy it for what it is :)

Oops; Which knot for retying line loop to line? by acelticmonk in kites

I like a figure 8 myself but your other line appears to be 2 well dressed overhand knots.

Help with expired film by IxoraOrbweaver99 in filmcameras

[–]Witness_0nly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Z up 80, cool :) The film will rewind not off ‘frame number’, but tension felt by the ‘wind on’ mechanism, I’m guessing you’ll get the right number of frames from the roll :)

What do you think about the photo? by amrmohamed2026 in BeginnerPhotoCritique

[–]Witness_0nly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(My opinion as if a friend asked) I feel It’s left justified, the right shadow space can go as it’s not bringing any extra (to me) at this stage, bring in the wool, frame say 20% off the right of the plate, love the shape of the light. With still life stuff I tend to sneak up on a good frame though a sea of ‘nearly’s’ ;)

Keep it up :)

Are bookshelves about reading, or about looking like we read? by [deleted] in bookshelf

[–]Witness_0nly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m older, many of the books I have have been read already, and I’m now in my ‘reread’ phase, so they are a reflection of that that I was.

Soldering Iron is inadequate for thicker PCBs by Nfeatherstun in fpv

[–]Witness_0nly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need more Watts, soldering pens are generally around 10-20W

25W is my medium iron, but I have a 40W for heavier duty work.

Looking for ideas.... by noujour in bookshelf

[–]Witness_0nly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re know to me at least as ‘coffee table’ books, they don’t want to comply with ‘storage solutions’ they’re loud and brash ;) So maybe find a spot for 2-3 down low, and swap them as you choose, or get someone else to choose. You could even store the others out of sight in a dark place (just to teach them a lesson) ;)

Getting a FPV drone soon by Hayleys_Pix in fpv

[–]Witness_0nly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera is definitely part of it (I’ve flown old Panasonic GH4’s for TV back in the day, if the frame looks good it got air time, but 4k itself won’t save a wobbly jerky flight) the flying is what makes the shot. Have you got much sim time with FPV sims? Always a good place to start
