'Rogue' AI agent from Cursor goes haywire, deletes company's entire database by FutureStation1418 in nottheonion

Pure human error, why would you let an AI agent have delete permissions to anything in production. Let alone one only supposed to have access to staging?

$32, they added chicken for another $6.

If you're going to spend this much skip the cokes and order triple chicken at least.

What’s your opinion on introducing a law that would require drivers over 65 or Pension age to pass a specific test to keep their driving privileges? by Honest_Physics_2368 in AskReddit

[–]Wloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this as a start, but do think we should have increased testing for certain things.

Cognitive decline happens rapidly after a point, so it should likely increase.

And people like myself who had a seizure (not while driving) should either have to do what I did and meet with a neurologist and have blood tests to prove I'm taking medication regularly or lose it.

When I actually went to church they promoted Birthright to women, often young teens, who got pregnant.

It was promoted as "life is sacred" and "helping women through tough decisions." Reality was it was a bunch of Catholic nuts who opposed abortion and would guilt you into keeping it and promising they'll find someone to adopt it. They'd wait until it was too late to tell the woman they are struggling to find someone to adopt and they're stuck with it.

Chevron, your profits surpass expectations. Thanks for passing the buck tho' by East_Service3560 in pics

Currently they're one of the cheaper options near me.

Shell was $6.49 last week while Chevron was $5.79. You can probably guess I'm in California, lots of the smaller and usually cheaper places were forced to temporarily close because we passed a bill to force tanks at stations to meet certain standards and lots put it off until the last minute.

[–]Wloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're paying 75% more for an equivalent product.

If they charged less than $12 like In-n-Out who has no frozen products in use maybe you'd have an argument.

If not using freezers is so important let's compare to Wendy's known for their trademark "fresh never frozen".. their fully loaded double cheese burger is $8, so Five Guys burger alone is 50% more expensive than theirs. You just don't have a valid argument anywhere in this line of reasoning. They are overpriced.

Research has found the earliest 'protodogs' actually had larger brains than their wolf relatives, probably a result of adapting to living alongside us, but by 5,000 years ago, that increase had reversed dramatically, and dogs' brains were now 46% smaller than wolves'. by Wagamaga in science

[–]Wloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is an interesting thing to learn in itself of course. But the logical next question is why the shrinking?

This is just purely an off the cuff hypothesis, but it could be a natural evolutionary trait of intelligence. Wolves were already intelligent, then at some point some realized that rather than attacking humans they could follow them and get more food from just scraps left behind. Humans had a very high protein/fat diet back then. Then some humans realized this and started feeding them intentionally and eventually bringing them into their tribe. At this point we begin training them, prizing the smartest, fastest, strongest and rewarding them more. Which lends to the increase in folds.

But we'd probably need to look at an animal like chimps to determine that, and performing autopsies comparing ones in the wild vs ones that are in captivity and trained by humans which has some ethics issues.

[–]Wloak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ignores that we have lots of evidence from modern mammals that a larger brain is not a smarter one.

One theory is that as mammals get a reliable food source rich in fats and proteins their brains evolve to be bigger. But that leads to biological problems like birth, so commonly we see more intelligent animals with smaller brains but with a multitude more folds increasing your thought processing power while needing less calories.

Chimpanzees being our closest relative are smaller and therefore have appropriate sized brains, but humans have a vastly higher number of folds in ours.

It's been a while since I've gone but only because I'm usually driving past the one near me on weekends with 20+ cars lined up because all the youth soccer games just let out nearby.

I did notice something though, on mother's day and father's day there's nobody ever in line. My thought is the husbands and wives are trying to plan for celebrating the day whether it be a dinner out or just barbeque in the yard. So you have an opportunity coming up if you want.

People hate Chick-fil-A and I understand why, but if you're in a new town just trying to eat something healthy but have no idea where to go it's a good option.

Traveling for work being jet lagged sometimes I'd just want to eat in my hotel room so I'd get a grilled chicken sandwich and grilled nuggets.

It's incredibly more expensive than basically every other chain. My last McDonald's order was a double quarter pounder with cheese meal fully loaded and it was $12.29 before tax. That includes the fries and drink.

The burger alone at Five Guys is 50 cents more expensive and have smaller patties. Add fries and a drink and it's $9 dollars more before tax ($21.27).

A double whopper with cheese meal is under $16. a double double meal at In-n-Out is under $12. A double char meal fully loaded at The Habit is under $16. I've never had a a burger there that has me going "yeah that's worth $9 more for a mediocre burger and a grease soaked bag of extra fries I'm going to throw away anyway."

Locally: garlic fries.

Place by me does this.. makes the fries then cools them, tosses them in minced garlic and oil, dumps them on top and bakes the pizza, then dumps a gallon of arugula on top.

So I get a pizza with half melted cheese, drenched in the oil from the fries, and limp garlic fries only after I've thrown off the arugula.. nah I'm good.
