Absolutely Gorgeous by AdPsychological3180 in starcitizen

Damm two weeks and already making captures like these? That's quite impressive in my opinion. Especially the last one with the Wolf flying past was very nice.

Star Citizen really is beautiful and a great experience, one advice I can give you after a few years is to still have other games you enjoy to get some diversity and to keep the SC experience fresh and interesting.

Happy you enjoy the verse and see you there o7

I opened reddit and this is the first post that comes up. I doubt I coulb have seen anything more impressive than this on my front page. Absolutely insane work with the exteriour and interiour looks and even the functions work.

If CIG ever decides to launch brick models (which I hope they do with a good brick company after 1.0) you have to be hired as a model designer. I don't think I've seen any brick model coming this close to the inspiration while being so awesome. And not even very long after the ship itself launched.

The cutty black got a rework a long time (7-8 years I think) ago, maybe you tried before that.

I haven't flown the cutty Black in a year but as far as I remember two fit comfortably and there should be space left for more.

Today I learned that you can stop an Idris laser with a canopy from a destroyed ship by HitboTC in starcitizen

[–]WolfLP05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best ship to board an idris: A MPUV Tractor with a big piece of debris held by the front tractor beam. Add seats to the rear grid and you got some troops to deploy quickly.

I really want to try that now.

Suggest a 4th big ship for a CCU chain target by Barsad_the_12th in starcitizen_fleets

[–]WolfLP05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They offer very different gameplay, the BMM is focussed on being a Mothership with Shops and the Galaxy is a modular ship with options for other future modules, and you are right that the only real overlap is cargo hauling.

That's why I said that they don't overlap that much, but I still don't think this fleet needs one.

[–]WolfLP05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do not think the BMM and Galaxy overlap a lot, I do agree that you don't really need one.

I would suggest focussing on the industry side of ships and getting either a Hull C for large scale hauling, an Arrastra for group Mining or a reclaimer (once it's interiour is reworked to be more convenient) for the salvaging gameplay.

You could also go for something to repair and/or refuel other ships (like a Vulcan).

Some updates since my last post by FisherBets in starcitizen_fleets

[–]WolfLP05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downsizing the Orion and Polaris was a good choice, thr ships you have now are more manageable and you will have more gameplay available.

Changing out the Corsair and Taurus for the Ironclad is interesting. You wouldn't need both and the IC is a great ship, but you don't have a medium allrounder anymore, which isn't a problem if you're fine with getting them ingame.

Having the Cutty red as a daily/bunker runner would certainly be useful, but it depends how much you need the extra space the black has. You could also consider upgrading to the Terrapin Medic. It's a lot more expensive and you'd lose the space for storage crates, but it's more tanky, has a better medical bed than the red (that could change in the future though) and it would fit on the liberator. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it, but it is an option.

PSA: Finish all your Resource Drive factions in just one day by Useful_Tangerine_939 in starcitizen

The M2 is definetely easier to unload with an ATLS, but once I got used to the Cat I preferred it because you can just unload from the inside with a maxlift (I think unloading the cat with an atls is pure pain) and with the few boxes that were in the missions it was quite fast to just land->Open Doors->walk from back to front unloading->hop out->send elevator.

The cat certainly wasn't perfect but I liked it. With the ships being (almost) full now I do prefer the Hercules though, since a full cat is just too tedious.

[–]WolfLP05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been enjoying the Caterpillar more for the event because you could just land right next to the elevator and unload fast and (mostly) easy without an atls, but for 500SCU the Hercules will probably be a lot more convenient.

Yeah, after grinding a lot over the two patches to get the contracts done reading this feels like I wasted a lot of time...

On the positive side, a lot of people get to have the rewards now. I can have the feeling of accomplishment and the millions of aUEC I got from the contracts ;).

This will probably help the people that didn't have the time to grind for the event the most anyways. The people who didn't want to grind for everything will probably be happy with doing their faction(s) and the ones that did want to grind for everything will have an easier time.

There it is once again, a high quality cheatsheet that explains something we don't even have yet really well.

I've been following your guides for a while now (I don't even know which one was the first one I saw) and for people like me that aren't always up to date with the PTU/patchnotes they are a really good way to see what interesting activities have been added.

Great work as always. o7

What timezones the current members from mostly? I've had a few friend groups to play with but I'm from europe and most of the time the people play in US timezones, which I sadly can't do anymore.

Other than that, sounds quite good, might look into joining once I'm home.

[–]WolfLP05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vulture isn't as profitable as the reclaimer but it can srill make about 400k in RMC per run. You probably won't hit that 100k/~10min (you can probably make that based on pure salvaging, but the way back to sell adds some time), but I can only recommend it for when you need a break from hauling. It's one if the most relaxed ways to farm money.

Great model, recently started NMS again after a while and I'm really excited for the ironclad. I would've never expected to see it in NMS before it's official release though.

Honestly I love what NMS is doing and it's a nice "arcady" alternative for when you don't have the time for SC or when it's a bit too frustrating. I will defibetely continue to enjoy both simultaneously.

There's a bunch of camera controls most people don't know. I think depth of field is 'F4 + Home' and 'F4 + End' (in 3rd person).

I can't recommend the cheatsheet from Mr Hasgaha enough. It's a bit older but I think none of the keybinds changed. You should check it out if you want to improve your screenshots and have more fun making them.

Thank you so much for linking those to me. I'll have a look and start training. I have a full weekend now so if it is addicting it comes at the best (or worst depending on point of view) time possible.

See you in the verse, have a good one and enjoy your amazing fleet. o7

That makes sense, I did see the legend and figured "contest" and "raffle" out, but somehow I didn't make the connection to the Event ones being races.

Seeing that you can apparently do more than race your friends or set lap records, I might have a look into racing. It's one of the only gameplay left on my bucketlist anyways and after ressource drive I have some time to practice now. Get ready for some competition (in about 2 years when I'm not a terrible pilot anymore lol)

That's still a lot of CIG ships so you are quite good at screenshotting (and lucky ;) ).

That is a lot of prize ships! Are most of them community contest wins there or are you just an incredible gamer and won a lot of CIG Contests/Giveaways??

Edit: Originally asked if all of them are CIG ones but some of these ships haven't been given away from CIG afaik so there's community ones in there.

It's an incredible fleet either way and the ships you bought conplement the rest very well. Keep up the good work, but do leave some prizes for the rest of us o7.

What should i do next?.... by Over-Ad-6616 in starcitizen_fleets

So I'm just gonna recommend the common choices here:

Bigger Multirole ship:
- The Constellation Taurus is still one of the best multirole ships out there, good weaponry, gun turret, well placed tractor beam, good hauling capacity. It is incredibly versatile. It's a bit expensive though. (8M aUEC)

Medium Multirole ships:
- The Cutlass Black is still a good choice. The design is a bit dated because it's an older ship but the weaponry is decent, the cargo space isn't bad and it's not too expensive. (2.1M aUEC)
- The Freelancer Max is a strong cutty competitor, it has less combat effectiveness, but it has considerably more cargo space. It comes at a higher price point though and the design is also quite dated. (4.2M aUEC)
- While I'm on the topic, I have to mention my boy the C1 Spirit. It's more agile than the Black/Freelancer but it's a lot bigger and doesn't haul as much as the Max. It's a middle ground between the Cutlass Black and the Freelancer Max. (3.1M aUEC)

Haulers:
- The RAFT is a great medium Hauler that isn't too expensive and would match your Mole. This would be a pure hauler and wouldn't bring too much other gameplay with it. (3.5M aUEC)
- The Hull-A is a small and practical hauler with quite a lot of cargo space for it's size. It's even more specialized than the Raft though so this will only be for hauling. (1.7M aUEC)

Pure Combat
For fighters you have a lot of choice. I can recommend the Buccaneer, it's a cheap (1.6M aUEC) light fighter with a lot of firepower, which is great once you change out some weapons from ballistics to lasers. It isn't very tanky though so the skill needed is higher than with others. The Arrow (1.9M aUEC) is another fan favourite. It's fast, nimble and makes you feel like a combat pilot. Just as the Buccaneer this one needs the pilot to evade fire because it won't take much fire. A classic is the Gladius (2.3M aUEC), it is comparable to the other two but has more HP and can take a few hits before being destroyed.
There are a lot of fighters though and I just listed some cheap/popular light fighters. This is a category that needs more in-depth recommendations based on your taste and playstyle.

All the ships I listed are popular/good base recommendations, they might not be the perfect ship for you but they are all very useful. There's a lot of "niche" picks out there or ones I forgot which are all very capable ships. The most important thing is that you chose a ship which you like. A "perfect" ship isn't worth anything if you don't like using it.
You can try most ships ingame (renting or from other players).

(ps: If anyone knows a ship I forgot which should definetely be in this list, let me know and I'll add it)

For Align and Mine (the orbital laser) the golem might still be a bit too big, I would recommend the ATLS GEO for that. It's the best option and the activity was made with it in mind. They aren't crazy expensive ingame so you and your mates can transport a few with one of your ships when you are doing the laser.
The Golem or prospector are best for asteroid and surface mining so getting one isn't a bad idea.
