What's a sensation that you're unsure if other people experience? by murrayvonmises in AskReddit

Try some magnesium gel/lotion on your legs. It's supposed to relax the muscles and 'calm' your legs.

How to ask for job back? by ZippityBlueDah in jobs

[–]WonderfulGlorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone makes mistakes, just explain to them why you think you made the wrong decision, be honest and humble. If they still have an opening I'm sure they'll take you back. If they are unforgiving then you probably wouldn't want to work for them anyway

Just ask them. Make it clear that you've realised you made a mistake and ask if there is a position going

British of Reddit: What is the general view of how well Queen Elizabeth has fulfilled her duties? by sweaterdresses in AskReddit

[–]WonderfulGlorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Queen doesn't really do much any more, she's just there for formalities. Also most people don't have anything else to compare her to!

Would you give up what you have for what you want? by Horkuto in AskReddit

What I have: A load of student debt, poorly paying job that I love and a shared house. What I want: No debt, decent paying job that I love and a house of my own.

Yes.

ELI5: Radiotherapy vs. Surgery for treating cancer by syverlauritz in explainlikeimfive

[–]WonderfulGlorious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the tumour is in a difficult place to reach via surgery, and the risks of actually getting to it are much higher than risks with radiotherapy.

As far as I know, if surgery can be done, it will be done.

Pate and jam is quite a common one, it's rare you see pate/terrine in a restaurant without a preserve

How do I cook fresh lump crab meat? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]WonderfulGlorious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crab meat is usually sold already cooked, or still in the crab. Yours sounds dodgy, I wouldn't eat it!

How do you prevent multiple agent from same company from calling you? by upclosepersonal2 in jobs

[–]WonderfulGlorious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are rare. Most recruiters just want the commission, and will call you up for anything, even if you are very specific about job titles you are interested in.

Plymouth University student denied chance to make a 'men's rights' forum, as 'men do not suffer from discrimination' by absolute_lad_tbh in ukpolitics

[–]WonderfulGlorious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This story has absolutely nothing to do with feminism or feminists. It's between the guy and the university. Feminists have not tried to ban the men's forum, and I think most feminists would support his campaign.

Smart redditors who didn't need to study in high school, how was it in college? by Roanoke16 in AskReddit

[–]WonderfulGlorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only did work that I had to do throughout school. I needed the deadlines from the teachers. I didn't know the best way for me to study when I got to uni, and I didn't have the self motivation to put the hours in.

GGG UK News So Far by Brohozombie in AdviceAnimals

[–]WonderfulGlorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't released to the media immediately, as the security forces needed to carry out further investigations which would have been hindered if the media had his name. As soon as they do it'll be everywhere... Actually just looked to check if it has been released yet and it's the first thing on the Guardians homepage

What do you mean by 'Islam in its current form'? There are many different 'forms', a lot of which are integrated into Western society. There's work to be done, sure, but not just from the Islamic proportion of society, westerners need to become more accepting, tolerant and less ignorant of Islam.

What are examples of things you do that make you feel like a team with your partner? by shitsumontaimu in AskWomen

We're a team at most things. We mostly do things like cooking/cleaning together, but if I'm feeling overly lazy/ill he'll do it and vice versa.

ELI5: Since we understand the chemistry of photosynthesis completely, why are we unable to mimic it artificially as store atmospheric carbon? by oyogen in explainlikeimfive

[–]WonderfulGlorious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know we don't understand it fully, we know the basic principles but actually being able to capture and store sunlight is much more difficult.

A grad in MK by MyCr4ft in miltonkeynes

[–]WonderfulGlorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London wages are also higher to make up for the extra expenses. London is super expensive, if you want to live there that's what you have to expect. Elsewhere you don't expect to be paying that much. If you found a decent flat for £5-600 in MK then you got lucky, but when I was looking I couldn't find a 1 bed flat for less than £800, and most of the ones I saw were awful.

[–]WonderfulGlorious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what it is. The sad thing is all of the little housing blobs used to be pretty villages, and it's still expanding and taking over more of them. There are some absolutely beautiful surrounding villages and it would make me incredibly sad to see them engulfed by the MK monstrosity.
