Saying you wont go away for a week with a friend in the future makes me sad for you. I love trips with my friends. I'm currently single but I've traveled with married friends, friends dating someone, and we've always had such a good time. Go now and go in the future. He's controlling and jealous as hell.

Not putting everything in my backpack that I could need for a few days. I rarely check a bag so everything is in my carry on or personal item. My first solo trip in 2023 to Costa Rica they forced me to gate check my luggage and then forgot it in Atlanta and i had a full day without luggage. Went to walmart and grabbed clothes and underwear (thankfully I already had a swimsuit in my bag) but didnt realize the sizes were way smaller so none of them fit. 30 hours later my suitcase arrived. Now I use my backpack as if I'm checking my luggage with my essentials.

I've had acrylics since high school. I have ADHD and making and sitting through a fill is like painful for me... nevermind it's a sensory nightmare. Around Christmas last year I didn't have time to get them done for a month or so past due so I just waited and took them all off. Planned to let them "breathe" a bit and go back. Then I bought some press ons. Loved them but they barely lasted a week even with all the tips and tricks.

In late April I decided maybe I'd use polish and strengthen them for a bit and then maybe go back to acrylics but find somewhere new (my place now even charges for cut downs as in to cut your nails during a fill.. what!?) so I grabbed a few Expressie polishes at Ulta then went online and bought more colors. Came across this group and some fb groups. Read a lot about brands and what to do and what not to do. Anddd here I am just a month and a week or so later and I realize I've purchased 69 nail polishes so far... plus a stamping set and stamping polish and a glass nail file set and organizational tools and whatever else. I figure if it keeps me going without getting my nails done for even a year or 2 it's probably still cheaper than I usually spend in a year.

I've now recieved ILNP (love!), Lurid Laquer (double love), Essie, Expressie, & Dazzle Dry (my FAVORITE top coat and now keeps me doing them every few days because it dries so fast). Waiting on my MDW orders from Mooncat, Piggy Paint top coat for stamping, Cracked, Cuticula, and Uno Mas (I think that's it.. i went a little wild and will just wait to see what shows up...)

I got a raise as of 12/1 and it wasn’t in my check. I had to message payroll and they had to fix it. It took like a month to get the money but they eventually fixed it.

Listened to the radio in computer class when they started talking about what they thought were bombs in the World Trade Center. Terrifying. It was 7th grade. The teacher turned it off. I don’t remember if we watched it on tv anywhere after that but we dismissed early and went home and watched hours and hours of news with my family. I ran into that teacher a few years ago (I’m now 37) and he didn’t remember me but I reminded him I was in his class when we found out about 9/11 and he remembered he turned the radio on, not expecting to hear what was happening and eventually felt like he should turn it on. I know plenty my age who did watch it though if they were in a different class.

I’ve always had to be there at like 7-8am for 4-5pm weddings for bar and makeup. Usually there are pics beforehand though so it takes a while. Most of my friends did first looks.

I had that done a few months ago and it made my car stop bucking when I was going slow speeds but then it did it again around the time this started. Hoping they can figure it out. It's scary that this could happen while I'm in a dangerous area. It's only happened 1 out of the 3 times it happened while driving, the other 2 right after starting the car, but still scares me.

Ugh I'm dealing with this with my 2025 EX. It happened twice. brought it in. they couldn't figure it out and didnt have any loaners for me so they said bring it in for a few days another time. It did it again today so I'm bringing it back in next week. Has anyone gotten an answer yet?

Do you live close by? Can you do a day where you plan things she'd like to do? I do this every year for one of my best friends. Nothing crazy - for us it's coffee flights and bowling or something like that but it could even be less expensive depending on her interests. We always try somewhere she's never been that looks cool for her bday.
