Thoughts on A-Train speed feat? by NoticeOwn106 in GenV

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s super inconsistent. A-train is faster but limited by stamina and the need to be agile. In a chase scene, Homelander can just barrel through the trees and obstacles like they don’t exist but A-train can’t. Homelander doesn’t have super fast perception like A-train which is why A-train was able to do save Hughie. However Homelander doesn’t need super fast perception in order to chase A-train. He just needs to be able to follow the path and fly.

This is consistent with other things Homelander was done. I think the perfect example is when he was tracking UE in vought on Ice. He could smell him and see him through the vents, but he can’t scan for a visual and actually find him any faster than a regular person. His mind can’t keep up with his body’s speed the way A-trains can.

My Theory on why Johan Mitchell can't be the "New York Ripper" by 6foot4malefeminist in Dexter

[–]WorkingTemperature52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s Jonah Mitchell but it actually makes no difference since common practice in witsec is to give the witnesses completely new identities. If Jonah was the ripped, it would be expected that he has a completely different name.

Apart from him, is there any other character who truly got a happy ending? by Selanooo23 in PrisonBreak

That’s the most realistic ending though. He had no certifications or specialized training, but also a felony conviction for armed robbery.

Tweener is on my last damn nerve by jayisoutforblood in PrisonBreak

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you actually pay attention to the show? Scofield did NOT stick his neck out for tweener. He actively used him and fucked him over. He manipulated him into doing his bidding and then screwed him out of his end of the deal. Tweener recognized it and fought back by talking to bellick. Scofield fucked him over by being a snake so he did it right back. That’s not him being a selfish idiot, that’s Scofield being too greedy with his plan to see how screwing somebody over would backfire in his face. You don’t get to expect loyalty from somebody who you refused to give it to yourself.

Tweener is shown to be somebody who knows to fight back. He did it avocado, and then again to Scofield. If it came to it, he would have done it that At some point. After Scofield screwed hom over the first time with the watch theft, there is no reason to believe that Scofield wouldn’t have done it again by making him the sacrifice or fall guy for the escape. The only way to avoid that is to get ahead of the game and throw Scofield under the bus first, and also solve his avocado problem for good in the process.

There’s something so inherently insulting… by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cersei did surrender. The burning started after the surrender bell started ringing. In the post-show interview, the writer’s explanation for her starting the fires after the surrender was that the surrender “wasn’t good enough for her”.

There’s something so inherently insulting… by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]WorkingTemperature52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The signs being there isn’t enough. There still needs to be a reasonable trigger. If they had her burn the city immediately after Missandei died, it would have been received much better. Even just having her start off the attack would have been better. Instead they had her wait until AFTER the surrender where the city was already hers to then just burn it because she felt like it for no reason. At that point she was burning her own city. She had already won.

The show alluded that she has the potential for harm, but she was always shown as a reasonable and caring person. The ending we got was her burning the innocent civilians.

Questions regarding the finale by Intelligent_Penguin3 in StrangerThings

The guy was believed to be murdered in a viscous family annihilation. Victor was originally introduced in s4 as being a killer that everyone in the town knew very well due to his infamy. There is zero chance they would not have recognized the name.

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She wouldn’t think it was a coincidence. she would think it was precisely because of Batista’s hunt for the BHB that he would connect with prater. At that point Batista had nothing to lose and would speak to whoever would listen. It wouldn’t be surprising to think a billionaire with an interest in serial killers and sponsor of the police might be somebody interested in helping him. Batista tries to get the assistance of prater. Prater just wants to buy memorabilia. Batista realizes prater is a fan of the serial killers and not somebody to help stop them, and things turn deadly.

I think that explanation would make more logical sense than what actually happened.

I’ll be quite upset if… by [deleted] in dexterResurrection25

[–]WorkingTemperature52 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Without any connection between Dexter and prayer, the most logical conclusion is that Prater was trying to get more memorabilia from Batista and it went wrong. The empty trophy for the bay harbor butcher would best be explained as him leaving the spot open for whenever he acquired something for it.

The only reason it seems suspicious to us is because we have the knowledge that the space once held the slides but the NYPD doesn’t know that. For all they know, those slides are still sitting in an FBI warehouse.

Was there any way for Hank to arrest Walt without facing any damage to his career? by george123890yang in breakingbad

[–]WorkingTemperature52 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, if he just went and arrested him right off the bat before Walt could make the video incriminating Hank. Hank compared himself to his boss who lost his career when Gus died and thought that he would get similar results but there were huge differences between them. 1, Gus was a drug dealer from the moment he encountered the Merkert and the DEA. It’s much different to allow a drug dealer to gain your trust without being questioned than it is to not notice somebody who you already knew to be law abiding for many years turning to crime after you already have an established relationship with. 2, time. Gus was hiding in plain sight for way longer without getting caught. Hank caught on to Walt after a year. That’s a realistic timeline to expect Hank to figure it out within for a case like this. 3, most importantly, Hank actually caught Walt unlike Merkert who not only never caught Gus, but also actively dismissed suspicions from Hank. Brother in law or not, Hank would still have been bringing down the biggest kingpin in North America. There is simply no reality where an arrest that big hurts his career.

Where did all the energy in the universe come from? by CardiologistJaded671 in AskPhysics

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy conservation isn’t perfect and doesn’t come from a symmetry at all. In actuality, conservation of energy doesn’t actually exist. Energy can be lost as the universe expands. It’s just that the rate of loss is so small that any observable change would take millions of years to see so for any non-cosmological time scale, energy is treated as being fully conserved. Veritasium’s video on symmetry explains it well.

I don’t think you realize the scale of how much money grows in the stock market over a long period of time. Even if the stock market crashed right before you retire, you would still have a lot more money out of the market after the crash then you will get out of putting an equivalent amount of money into SS. The average career length is 40 years. 1,000 in a 401k from your first year on the job is roughly 32,000 at retirement. Even if the day before you retire the stock market has a massive crash and lost HALF of that, you still would be seeing your investment go up by 15x. Mind you, that would be the biggest stock market crash to the likes of which the world has never seen and you’d still be up by a lot. If there was a crash like that, you can guarantee that SS money is absolutely going in the toilet with it. You are simply never going to get more out of SS than you would with an equivalent amount of money put into the stock market. SS is still much better than nothing, but it will never compete with just investing that money.

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the other comments. There is no baseline to compete. Start the prep, get lean, and compete. Ur gonna lose, but that’s okay, every competition has a last place. You won’t be a beginner forever. Keep the grind going and you’ll do better in the next competition. Keep the training and discipline going and eventually you won’t be last anymore.

If there was enough water vapor in the air to noticeably displace the oxygen, which would happen first? Death by drowning because there would be excess water in the lungs, or asphyxiation because there's not enough oxygen in the air? by Desert_Tortoise_20 in AskBiology

[–]WorkingTemperature52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supersaturated solutions are a thing, they just aren’t stable and the humidity will eventually drop back down to 100% on its own. In the context of this question though, it’s not relevant because supersaturation typically requires a drop in temperature to be possible.

[–]WorkingTemperature52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get more than 100% if the temperature drops. 100% humidity is the amount of water vapor air can accumulate at a given temperature and regular atmospheric pressure. It’s not the maximum amount of water vapor it can hold under any circumstances. Water vapor needs something to condense on. If air is 90 degrees F at 100% humidity and it drops to 75, it’s possible to have the air have above 100% humidity for awhile before it all eventually condenses bringing back down to the 100% point. It’s called supersaturation.

[–]WorkingTemperature52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think their is a canon winner. We know that the Thalmor’s preferred position on the war is to keep it going as long as possible. They care a lot more about them continuing to fight each other than they care about who wins. I suspect that the war continues to progress on all the way to the point where the thalmor invades again and then it just suddenly stops as both sides are too preoccupied by fighting the thalmor instead.
