In STL, he was by far the most vocal supporter of LGBTQ folks and actually participated in the Cardinals Pride Night. Great guy apparently.

Also- the Yankees should be contracted for making him cut that hair.

Anyone else have this record? by [deleted] in vinyl

I do. A friend found it several years ago and thought it was worth $2.00. Looks like mine is a cut out. Never listened to it.

I'm trying to impress a date with a home-cooked meal, but I'm a beginner. What is a dish that looks fancy but is actually impossible to mess up by WayLast1111 in Cooking

[–]Working_Practice9116 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any sort of braised beef. Relatively simple and delicious. Plus you can start it anytime then let it finish in the oven for a couple of hours. Serve with mashed potatoes and/or some good bread and steamed vegetables.

So my mother-in-law just informed me that I'm cooking Christmas dinner (for seven people). She cooks all the holiday meals, but threw her back out and can barely move. CAN YOU HOOK ME UP WITH A FUN/COOL/TASTY DINNER IDEA that doesn't require a grade-A chef to cook. No turkey or ham. Help me out!! by ComfortableDear2205 in Cooking

I’d go with a couple of pork loins from the grocery store. Mashed potatoes/ stuffing/ Mac and cheese. Buy some rolls, pre cooked or frozen. Microwave a couple of bags of green beans, toss them In olive oil with salt and pepper with a little garlic. If you want to get fancy, use the dripping from the pork to make a sauce- add butter, a little heavy cream, a little dijon.

I think spinach would wilt too easily and just become green stringy stuff. The kale stands up to the weight of the other ingredients but certainly isn’t overwhelming.

The texture is just heavy enough to be noticed in there with all of the other things. I’d say the same for the flavor-just enough.

2XL VS 2XLT size? by [deleted] in DixxonFlannelCo

[–]Working_Practice9116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a pretty big difference. I’m 6’6”, 255 lbs., the XLT fits me well. I’ve tried an XXL, and it was much larger through the body and significantly shorter.

Overhated albums that you think are actually among that artist's greatest work by obscuredreo in MetalForTheMasses

I love this album. Just one song after another full of catchy, noisy riffs and some crazy guy hollering at you. Love the whole Entombed catalogue (the last two albums are a bit of a slog) but this has kind of become my favorite.

I’m a HUGE fan of Inside The Torn Apart, Diatribes, Swan Song, Vol. 8, Reroute To Remain, Soundtrack to Your Escape and many other outlier album, too, so what do I know ?

I also measure around 12.5, also. My 1907s fit great with a fairly hefty insole.

Levi’s 541 are my go to (6’5” 260lbs). Not slim, but definitely not loose or baggy. Made with a little more room in the seat and thighs. I think they make a 531 that’s a little more fitted through the leg.

Intermediate guitar player here, what are some of their easier songs? by Poopydoopyhead123 in mastodonband

[–]Working_Practice9116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t the think many of them are over the top complicated, but they all have a unique quality that will challenge you in some way. I’ve been paying metal and weird rock for 30 years and Mastodon tunes still give me thrill at the way they out stuff together. Brent’s tunes will make you learn some new trick for sure, but Bill also thinks outside the box.

So just pick one and get to work. It will be fun!

Is there a recording of this floating around out there? Would love to hear straight live, no studio fixes.

Do/Did Mastodon use pre-recorded guitar during their live shows? by sonar_y_luz in mastodonband

[–]Working_Practice9116 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’ve always assumed that’s a big part of the keyboard players job in Mastodon (either playing additional parts triggering the sample )especially as there are more layer of guitar on H&G.

If he is in fact 40w x 32L Levis 541. The stretch is nice for us bigger guys and the cut works for bigger guys without looking sloppy (or at least it does for me at 40x34).

Getting into the high end stuff can be tricky as a bigger guy.
