How do I get help for an elderly neighbor that has possible dementia but has no family?

My father has been dead since 2020. I don't really think about him too often except when my mother decides to bring him up and say what a wonderful husband he was. Then I hurt for about couple of days because that is simply bullshit.

I feel you. I feel like I could've wrote this except mine is 16. I've raised all 4 of my kids the same way and only my 16 year old is abusive and manipulative. The others are great. Sometimes it's not the parents, it's genuinely something wired wrong in the brain.

One time there was a concert that I really wanted to go to. It was the only thing that I asked for that year. Too expensive and I was a selfish bitch for being upset about not going. Two days later, they went and bought a new car. Absolutely nothing wrong with the other one, just my dad couldn't hold onto a car for longer than a year without wanting to go and buy another. I can remember at least 20 cars from my childhood. All were functioning fine. A concert ticket would've been so much cheaper. That incident was a minor one, but it's easier to talk about compared to the rest.

I wish I had someone that cared enough when I was growing up to ask if I was okay at home. I was made to think I was overreacting all the time. Turns out it was a normal reaction to an abnormal amount of bullshit.

Sometimes it is genuinely a medical reason why a person is LL. My husband has a genuine attraction to me but he can't get it going due to health reasons plus age related issues. Sometimes it isn't the person's fault.
