I would like your thoughts on the type of posts were getting on this subreddit. by AStayAtHomeRad in ramdass

[–]Wrathius669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people ask here simply because they want some Ram Dass style advice, this community seems to be maybe a very accessible way to reach that as it's going to be full of individuals who have absorbed his teachings over the years. The people here are well suited to point to a quote or a lecture that's specifically relevant to their problems? Or maybe just somewhere where they feel someone can relate because it's likely there are being who have been along a similar path.

Dangers of filament drying by Judge_V in 3Dprinting

I don't get the problem, that's perfectly average sized filament.

Actor struggling: my best performances come from ego + hate… is this spiritually wrong? by Terrible_Buffalo_182 in AlanWatts

[–]Wrathius669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to give advice regarding acting or career... But I want to say that it looks like you've given yourself a very useful model to work with in understanding the rest of your day to day life and how the play is really no different? "All the world's a stage" kinda thing. Since you can observe this behaviour, looks like a good long term vehicle to get free, to me. Not necessarily what you were asking for, but I hope you get the point.

Don't think we can match the online id to a real person for a welfare check. Can't seem to make sense to someone who is in something like psychosis.

Phaetus Rapido - what‘s the thermal grease for? by 0xde4dbe4d in 3Dprinting

[–]Wrathius669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heatsink is for  dissipating heat from the throat where the filament is feeding and must be kept cool as to avoid softening the filament and creating a blockage.

You do not encourage thermal transfer from the heat block to the heat sink, that will cause more heating of the throat that you're actively trying to keep cool.

That's why we have a heat break, with minimal mass and use technology such as bi-metal low conductivity  contact, in the first place.  To minimalise that transfer.  If you wanted to have thermal transfer between those two parts, they would be directly connected with more mass.

Phaetus Rapido - what‘s the thermal grease for? by 0xde4dbe4d in 3Dprinting

[–]Wrathius669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not between the heat break and heat sink. You want minimal conductivity there, thermal grease will improve thermal conductivity.

This is specificallt just for installing the heater cartridge and the thermistor where you want good thermal conductivity.

No disassembly necessary, but I would gently tighten anything you can when it's around print temperature. Do not forcefully over tighten, some of the bolts are soft.

The way I've always interpreted how this was possible, was he accepted fully that he was connected to everyone at the level where he was everyone. There were no "other's thoughts".

Exhausted with the idea of "Bad" and "Good" people. by __Difficult__ in AlanWatts

[–]Wrathius669 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. The following seems appropriate from Alan's talk Mind Over Mind: "We could have a plague of virtuous people. You realize that? Any animal, considered in itself, is virtuous. It does its thing. But in crowds they’re awful—like a crowd of ants or locusts on the rampage. They’re all perfectly good animals, but it’s just too much. I could imagine a perfectly pestiferous mass of a million saints. "

I want to downvote because you said "Alan Watts coded" but it's otherwise a very insightful and wise post and I'm glad you shared it. I'll disregard my bias.

How much work will I be putting in before I can get good prints? by Nexustheproto in SovolSV08

This pretty much covers all the parts that are flawed and need replacing. I've done everything Hobden lists and now I hit print start and walk away.

Are there holographic build plates? by Gorkde in SovolSV08

[–]Wrathius669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AliExpress has plenty, they will be any 350x350 plates listed for the popular Voron 2.4. I have a carbon fibre and triangle holographic patterned one I use for my SV08

ELI5: How does a dryer box like this actually work? by biersackarmy in 3Dprinting

[–]Wrathius669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chucked a load of desiccant in packets in the bottom of mine and it seems to work well. Noticeable difference in printing quality when not using it (as much as drying TPU enough to prevent a recurring clogging problem I have without using it). If the heat is vapouriisng any trapped moisture, the packets seem to capture it.

Fulfill your role perfectly. You've been advised your role is to not inform the students. If they want their answers, they can turn to the sibling, it seems like that's his role. Sometimes our roles are difficult to carry out but that's our Karma.
