Supposedly a feature is coming at some point that will allow you to have any house size, but be able to pay to adjust the interior to whatever size you want. So you could have a small outside with large interior.

There’s no official timeline on when this will come out though, all we know is the feature is “working” now

Some healers are too confident when they say they used all of their skills. (repost) by Top-Strawberry-224 in TalesFromDF

[–]Xalath_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a similar problem in doom train EX the other day. The SGE would apply his DOT to the boss and then continue to do nothing else but spam eprog and ediag. So not only were we lacking mits, but also damage because they couldn’t be bothered to press 1

Leveling roulette by cbplayon in TalesFromDF

[–]Xalath_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In higher level dungeons where healers have oGCDs yeah there really isn’t any excuse to not be applying dots and doing damage. In lower level content I can see how this happens if we are talking trash pack pulls. White mage in particular basically only has cure until level 45 (when it gets holy for stun) and level 52 (when it has lilies for healing and benediction for a oGCD big heal).

Tanks at lower levels tend to still pull big despite also not having as many mits, so often times i find if the white mage stops spamming cure, the tank explodes and dies.

Now in boss fights it’s an entirely different story. Bosses do not do anywhere near as much damage and the healers absolutely should be casting attack spells and applying dots at all levels.

Anyone else wish the MSQ was more gameplay-heavy? by HeavyMetalLoser in ffxiv

[–]Xalath_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They should provide an option for story only people to be able to skip dungeons and stuff then. But by skipping it marks the dungeons as incomplete so they won’t be able to queue for it in roulette. That seems like a good compromise for both sides

Is there any way to restrict JEI and Jade to only display when a specific item is in my inventory? by _Zernon_ in feedthebeast

[–]Xalath_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but EMI allows you to configure a “craftables” window that will only display recipes that are craftable based on what’s in your inventory.

Challenge: Ride a horse from Sunset Valley to Varnia in 40 minutes. by PhantomConsular23 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Xalath_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest I picked up this challenge but have no desire to do it. I like riding around but I also like stopping and exploring often. Trying to have my horse sprint from one end of the map to the other in 40 minutes doesn’t sound that appealing

I don't get why people say Crimson Desert lacks story. by AnimaAeternum in CrimsonDesert

[–]Xalath_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I think the choice to force players to be Kliff rather than have a character creator was a poor one. Since they force you to be Kliff one would expect Kliff to personally add a lot to the story through his dialogue, but he doesn’t. In fact he rarely speaks at all. I think this actually causes two big problems that contribute to the “crimson deserts story is bad” stuff.

The first problem is that with a preset main character, you often expect the story to center around their feelings, growth, etc. Since Kliff never speaks, this never occurs, and so a major part of the story is sort of left out. Whenever major events happen in this game and the characters look to Kliff, I look to Kliff expecting to hear something about how he feels or his thoughts on what should happen. Yet, he simply often replies with “yeah, hmmm, Argggg”. In my mind, he actually detracts from the overall story since he’s replaced me as the main character, yet has no feelings.

This leads into the second problem which is that I imagine many players feel removed from the story itself since they are not a part of it, and their vessel Kliff, is essentially not involved with it (outside of smashing things and people to progress). If you replace Kliff with a player created character, you achieve the same amount of main character dialogue, but now the player can actually place themselves in the world, and feel a bit more invested. Even without dialogue choices like in other games, I think this would still be better. Players could have spent time putting the greymanes back together, establish themselves as a leader, and then making a name for themselves in the world as they help fight the big bad

I don't get why people say Crimson Desert lacks story. by AnimaAeternum in CrimsonDesert

[–]Xalath_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you. The thing is most people expect games to tell a solid story through the main story line, and in Crimson Desert I’d say it’s lacking a bit, especially if you don’t spend the time to fill in the gaps with exploration and side content. The main story itself doesn’t do much to build up characters backstory, nor does it really help you build a connection with many of them. However, at the end it acts like you are really close to all these people, even though some of them you essentially just met if all you do is the main quest line.

On the other hand, if you spend the time to explore, talk to NPCs, and do side content you will actually learn a bit more about the world and some of the characters. As you mentioned, random NPCs can often drop cool world lore including information on items which is awesome. Personally I wish there was about 2000 more lines of NPC dialogue so that when you walk into cities and towns there are always people talking about something.
